Is it hard setting up a gold selling site?

 

It sure is for new guys.
Having a reputable Sythe career is always a plus if you really plan on making a big business like R2p.
Reputation, reputation and reputation are the keys to succes.
If you plan on going in for a solo-career it's going to be hard, I'd advise reading R2p's interview in this topic.

If you still feel like this is your thing, set up some safe accounts, get some steady suppliers, and open your first Sythe/PA shop, yay!

I assumed you were talking from an economy-based view for this question, so that is why I'm going with this story.

If you just want to setup a site, and don't want to bother with going trough all these previous steps, there are plenty people selling ready-to-go sites, maybe have a little gander trough the non-gaming sales

Exactly as Cas said, its all about reputation which involves a whole lot of trust. Build that up then I would begin your site

Yes. A lot of people haven't succeeded. You want a strong background of 500+ vouches before you even attempt it.

 

It's very hard for really new people to start from scratch. Might try asking for help.
