Gold P/Second Runes - Useless?

Are Gold per second runes now useless with the new support items? Like I'd rather have Health Regen runes rather than gold per second.

I don't ever use anything besides from Armour yellows, but that's just personal preference.

 

Armour runes > GpS any day, Support get enough gold income now to warrant not using these and the armour would help you a lot more in lane, don't think people actually realise the amount it helps.

 

Personally, I prefer armor yellows and reds, MR or MR / Lvl blues, and health quints then start a dorans or targon depending on who I go. Doran's for thresh targon's for Leona

But to answer your question, are they 'useless'? No. they still get you gold, however, they're not as viable as other runes.

 

They have become less used/needed since the item/support changes that happened over pre season and season 4. However, I still use them on champs such as Leona and Taric. Other than that, I tend to never use them.

 

Sorry, thats what I meant by useless, I agree they're really not viable.
