Stretch out before you go to bed and you will feel comfortable in the first position you lay in. If you cant fall asleep count backwards from 1000

The stretching part is great advice for achieving a good nights rest. Here's four other things that'll help anyone get to sleep better.
1. Exercise earlier in the day. This is crucial not only for aiding sleep; but for general physical and mental health.
2. Make your bed every morning. It sounds like a waste of time (why make my bed when I'm just going to mess it up while sleeping later?), and I'm not aware of the exact psychology behind it, if any, but it's helped me substantially. Your bed feels clean and in order when you get into it again later at night. It also makes your room look less like a teenage slob occupies it.
3. Wash your sheets weekly. This is a good general cleanliness thing.
4. Use your bed solely for sleep and sleep alone. This signifies to your body that your bed is a symbol that is strongly associated with sleep.
