recovered lost account - has 800m worth of items

I've played runescape since runescape classic, usually on and off each year and played till 2010 where I stopped until now. I forgot my account details, so had to recover it, then realised someone had been playing on it.

It has decent stats but mainly it has 800m cash which is quite a lot for me. So the quesiton has to be asked, is it worth playing the game? I have absolutely no idea what to do, I was thinking of starting again and transfering the gold as I have no idea what EoC is, but I don't really have that much time now seeing as I'm at university. Can this game still be played casually?

If I wanted to sell the gold how much would I get?

 

Personally the game is not worth playing. I stopped playing casually in 08 and recently tried to get back into it. I know the UI changes take getting used to but it just didn't flow and feel like Jagex is doing everything they can to make money...It seems like they sold out. Like I said, this is my personal opinion, yours might be completely different than mine. You should at least give it a try.

800m * .35c per mil = $280 USD

800m * .40c per mil = $320 USD

 

This is implying that you're a trusted gold seller with thousands of vouches and a goldshop, not a new comer.

A newcomer's options are either;
a) Sell to a trusted seller for around 24-29c/mill
b) Try sell yourself and deal with the chargebacks on random newcomers who are vading.

 

Actually at this time I am quite possitive even Arcus/R2P are paying up to .38/m for EoC gp.

 

It's not worth selling the gold. Swap the gold from RS3 to oldschool and play there if you don't understand the mechanics of RS3.

 

I would sell gold. But you should try Eoc out first and see wether you like it or not and than decide.

 

Did you give your account away or something in 2010? How was someone else playing on your account? I understand that it's your account and all, but make sure you didn't just steal gold from innocent guy that you gave your account away to.

 

You would end up with about $300 if you sold the gold. IMO, sell the gold then try playing to see if you like it.

 

broooo Rs3 is a reallllly good game man, and the community is unrealisticly nice and there arent alot of scammers, it has taken a turn for the better (player base wise) and its not the same korean grinder it use to be.

Personally its really nice and revolution has made it fun.

I wouldn't say the game is full of scammers but yeah sell the gold. RS3 is only worth it if you understand it (didn't quit when eoc came out).

You should probably hurry up and sell it before the guy who hacked you in the first place (implying you got hacked) recovers it back.

 

Seeing as EoC gold seems to be on the rise I'd personally just hang onto it for now. I wouldn't begin playing again, but that's just my opinion. Try it out, get a feel for it, and decide what would be best from there on out.

I do understand that. As I said before, in my opinion, Runescape is not really Runescape anymore.

As to OP try it out and make a decision from there.

 

Personally, I kind of like rs3, but alot of people don't and play either 07 or don't play at all.

If I were you, I would just sell the gold considering you don't have much time on your hands anyways.

 

What is so hard to understand about eoc? Honestly.

The game is more casual and can be really good even if you aren't a hard core player

F2p and places like living rock caverns is where you would find the shittiest people. I cringe reading what they say. Best bet is to find a clan with decent people and pvm with them
