Using a webcam to stream games

I've never really heard about this anywhere. Right about now there are quite some quality webcams around that are probably quite affordable aswell. However I never really see them used to capture actual game footage - rather just face reveals etc. I'm fairly sure my PC isn't the worst but I do not want to lower down my graphics in order to stream, neither do I want the risk of getting more crashes as streaming/recording while gaming just takes a lot out of your computer. So I wondered, isn't there something around there that can loosen up the heaviness of the recording/streaming? I've heard about game capture cards, but if all this is really worthy for is saving game footage then I'm gonna pass because I'd rather just livestream. Wouldn't it be possible to point a webcam in the direction of my computer and use that instead? Surely I would only need to use that when playing games rather than moderating Sythe (doing other sensitive stuff) but would it be an opportunity or would that just be a waste of money? I'd imagine investing in a good webcam + stand would be about 100 euros, perhaps around the same as a game capture card. Any ideas?

Here's my PC specs to get a sense of it.

    Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

You don't see anyone using webcams to capture monitor footage because that is an extremely outdated method of capturing gameplay. Especially when there is freeware like OBS to capture and stream gameplay. You can stream via OBS using either the CPU encoder or the GPU encoder, from the information you provided, I am not sure what CPU you have ('Intel Core i3/i5/i7 @ 3.20GHz' ?). CPU encoding is usually better quality but uses more resources and has a big impact on your system performance (depending on your CPU). If you use GPU encoding it will have small impact on performance, but the quality will be slightly worse. Streaming is also highly dependent on internet speed.

I join AAASales' words, nowadays we have a lot of applications for live streaming that it makes no sense to use webcams for it. Except for live casinos. I read that gaming providers build special studios — Live Streaming in Canadian Online Casinos | Oye! Times, place there tables with dealers, and mount it with cameras for future live streaming. So, you don't need to make things complicated if you're planning to stream gaming process from your PC. Look for some good apps on the Web, there are a lot of them, and I'm sure you'll find the best option.
