Kinda understand what you are saying. Like running back and forth while attacking a monster? Reason: Less damage taken.

This would be true, but if the monster also has a ranged attack then this technique would not work.

I guess its just a habit or it could just speed up your weapon which your attacking with by a slight amount, so if you just hit with a godsword, run away and back up and you will be able to attack again without waiting time till next attack

 

Its stops the monster attacking at all though, not like less dammage it sorta stops it completely.

 

This technique is actually much harder than it looks, I've tried this before and failed hard

Basically, by walking under the monster in a line the way he does, it causes the monster to back-pedal, whilst being completely unable to do any damage on him. But although the monster cannot do any damage while its walking backwards, look closely and you can see woox hitting the monster as it moves backwards and he hides under its body. Its a hard technique to master, but it allows you to deal out damage on high levelled monsters during a period when you are unable to take damage yourself, due to you hiding under the monster as it back-pedals.

EDIT: This technique is used a TON during a Nex solo. If you watch Woox16's nex solos, he uses this technique quite often, as well as a "glitched" spot and a few other tricks to defeat Nex on his own.

 

Its called dancing and its used so that you can kill monsters without them being able to attack you, useful for Nomad and the Dag Mothers(When they are in a un melee-able phase.)

Like others have said it can sometimes be used as a safe spot kind of glitch but at corparal beast it sends out a core that can do massive damage and if
your soloing all you can do is run back and forth to avoid the cores attacks.

 

It's pretty much to prevent some damage from the monster.

 

It's used to prevent damage as others have stated , Zerkerfist pretty much cleared it up with details though , as always .
You can also do it to to get hits in , by this I mean when you hit you have to wait a certain amount of gameticks until you are able to hit again . You just simply hit the monster , safe spot by dancing , and hit again .

 

It's a difficult method of working the monster and attack speed game ticks so that a person using say veng which can be done once every 30 seconds, matches each single attack to Jad. Or that's what shown in that video at least.


Say you're at the Saradomin Godwars. People who use chaotic mauls will walk the boss like so, so that they get 1 attack per Saradomin attack, takes less damage and makes it so slower weapons which hit stronger can be used at a lesser damage taking rate.
