Gf Runescape -Mass Botting Ban Coming!

It’s been a while since we updated you on what we are doing to prevent cheating in RuneScape, and particularly to catch and ban macroers, so here’s what’s currently going on:

You’ve probably already noticed while playing the game that there has been a lot less macroing going on over the last year, as we’ve been getting more effective at preventing it. Gone are the days where every tree has an accompanying crowd of bots. However, we’re not resting on our laurels, and in fact we have just strengthened our macro-detection systems yet again. We are about to ban several thousand more accounts for macroing. We have reviewed all the macro programs available, and there are none we cannot detect.

These days we are taking a zero-tolerance approach to macroing. Players caught for macroing don’t receive a warning, or a chance to appeal, or even a last-chance appeal - they are just permanently banned. Don’t make the mistake of believing that we’ll be soft, and that you can get away with it until you are warned. You can’t. Don’t risk your account. By the time you realize you’ve been caught it will be far too late.

Also, high-level and members’ accounts are NOT immune, or given an extra chance. One of the reasons for our RWT changes was precisely so players couldn’t effectively macro on low–level, throwaway accounts to gain wealth. This means they were tempted to macro on their high–level, main accounts instead, which plays straight into our hands as our existing anti-macro systems catch and ban them! This has proven very effective; so far this month we have already banned over 500 high-level accounts with skills in the 80s and 90s. Don’t make your account one of them.

This is a warning to players that would have otherwise been sucked in by the misinformation spread by cheating communities; don’t do it, or you will lose your hard-earned account.

Ahh well, I don't actually play RS legit anymore. I don't really care about my accounts... I bot cuz I can. If I get away with it, great. If I don't, life goes on. xD

 

that sucks for anyone that bots, i wonder if they actually can detect every botter

 

I still say Paid programs are not a bad way to go. I'm generalizing to the point where they were really looking at the free bot programs out there. To me this is just a scare for botters. There's going to be a lot of hype about this and people are going to be banned, but I think there putting more into it than meets the eye.

It's just going to be like the Aryan bot incident all over again. Me i'm going to stop botting for a while and see all the reports and learn from their mistakes. I guess i'm even into buying their hype. Skiller.. Precious.

I have a strong feeling that the people who are getting banned are either being reported or just botting for 15+ hours at a time. Banning for this is to be expected, so I will continue to bot, and continue to not get banned.

They said that before, didn't they? Advice - use simple autos instead of complex bots and Java hacks and do not overnight. Look at the link in my sig for a good non-overnight autoclicker.

 

OMFg i got banned and last night I botted 15hours+ cuz i was sick so im like fuck it and woke up to a perma banned account : (

 

i think the ban has happend already - and this was the warning and chance for "anyone else who is considering" to stop - I have stopped.

i dont see why jagex cant think of the people that go to school and have jobs and cant play for the amount of time they would like to. jagex and its workers have no emotion, all they want is money.

I'd use that kind of stuff if I played legit AT ALL. In fact, I used to do that all the time. I wrote my own scar scripts for training combat, fletching, etc. They weren't super stable, but they were good enough to let run on my laptop while I sat next to it and monitored it passively.

Now... I bot starting at level 3 with no regard for the accounts safety, because frankly, I don't give a damn.

 

Well this thread was about a mass botting ban. Naturally, I assumed being banned was the concern here >_>
