Basically he sold me the RSN 'Prayer'. I log in today to find that the name has been banned off of my account, and taken on another account.

 

I actually remember someone messaging me on Skype a week or two ago saying the name "Prayer" got sniped away from him.
I'm assuming he was aware (as well as many others) that the name was going to be available.

Are you trying to say spectralpr0 sold you the name and sniped it back?

 

Prayer was never sniped. He got it from the release on his main.

He then traded with me on the date shown on the screenshots, around 3 days after the release. Initially we tried to transfer and it got sniped, but apparently it was taken by his friend who had a bot set up, as they had previously discussed putting it on an alternative account. His friend gave him the info, and we tried for round number 2. We then transferred a second time, and it was a success. I has not been transferred since then, except for JaGeX banning the name and placing it on a new account (probably his friend's account).

If Dave remembers any of this, I'd really like for him to say what he remembers.

Since, your account has been banned and the name has been re-released?

Was your ban reason on RS due to the name?

Can get Dave involved after the initial questions are answered if needed.

 

The account was not banned. The name was banned after it, which only happens after someone claims it was taken maliciously. I can still log into the account, and it asks me to claim a new character name. Happy to provide screenshots of this if necessary

 

Please provide those screenshots if possible (or a private video link can be sent via PM).

I spoke to a couple people who are good with names and here's what I've come out with.

First off, everything dunworry said is absolutely true.

Now for the reasoning/what to do from here, when this occurs, the ONLY way to reverse a name is through requesting a ticket through jagex appealing to change the name back. That can only be done by an account that the name was already on, so it had to have been spectral or his friend/him who sniped the account during our trade.

So basically, I'm gonna ban spectral and he'll owe you the 900M for the name if he cares to try and dispute this ban.
