You know the old sythe monthly? Well why cant we join it with the new one. Its not complicated as we only have to create a thread each month for votes and you post the result in a section of the new sythe monthly. I dont want to replace the new one cause its really good and I love it but I kinda miss the old one too so combine together?

So you want the member of the month competition to be brought back?

It's been contemplated to bring it back but at the time the public was basically sick of it - all the same people would win/popularity contest/jealousy/not generating many votes at the end.

If/when we do bring it back (wholly dependent on the desire for it), likely it would be different in some fashion.

 

I was recently thinking about this as well. Since I just got back on here after years I was seeing mini ranks for it but wondering how the hell they were obtained. Would be nice to have the chance to participate in something like this, plus it motivates good activity overall.

 

It got to the point where it was decreasing in votes, it was the same people bi-monthly and people just moaned about it being a popularity contest.

 

What about a poll to see how many people dont want and how many people want to have the old sythemonthly back? If theres more no, then we wont bring it back!
*we have to say that we will keep the new one but will insert the MOTM in it

And now the sythemonthly isnt just the member of the month so there would be a lot less people complaining about it. Its just a part of the sythemonthly.

And the people who dont want it would just forget about it and they would have the other parts of the sythemonthly to enjoy.. So i dont see the problem?

 

It's been discussed in the CDT lounge, and I'm thinking about trying it again.
If I'm serious about trying the MotM again, it's going to be a different thread, with the results being posted in the SytheMonthly for that month.

Just keep in mind, it's going to be atleast 1-2 more months before it would be released again, just because July is going to be a big one

Don't worry, it'll probably get another go.

 

You could always just do it quarterly.

 

It's not the "old sythe monthly" per se, just one thing we used to put in it

It's never lasted long but we will try and gauge the interest - funnily enough someone brought it up the other day as well Could be worth trying

 

People have never put all that much interest into it and it has always just been a popularity contest. Just let people vote and try to put in fun categories.

The whole thing is just a popularity contest and I just got bored of it. There's no point in bringing it back.

We could always bring it back for the people who want it and people who dont... Dont need to read that section!
