Gender equality is still a concernining issue.

Gender equality always seems to tilt to one side. Where I live (England) it's currently more tilted towards women having more rights than men, but obviously not by as much as other countries. It's not really fair to compare the UK to countries like Saudi Arabia which runs on religious laws that oppress females from birth because they're different countries.

The UK is decently fair. The pay gap exists but not because of sexist reasons and as for the statistics about women being fired / refused pay rise during pregnancy - If they could prove that it was caused by their pregnancy then they could take legal action, so those figures are probably made up. Either that or they didn't deserve to keep their job or get a promotion because their performance was not adequate during their pregnancy (which is reasonable).

There's a number of cases where law supports women over men, mostly surrounding supporting & having custody of children. You can argue it's the woman's body, but you can also it's 18 years of the male's salary. Maybe it's not possible to have perfect equality there, but atm it's definitely supporting the females more than the males in society.

As for social pressures that's probably just because of your own mindset. I don't feel oppressed and nor do most of my friends. I find it's just as common in men as it is in women, but men often don't express it because part of the pressures they feel are around the right to express themselves.

I think this whole discussion is at a level it shouldn't be at.

This shouldn't be about what women want, and what men want. But what needs a change.
