So a mate of mine has a small shop over here in Australia that sells Computer stuff, Games Hardware ect. and he has decided to try and start a gaming website that markets all kind of gamers. once he release the website he will have a good amount of people due to hes shop but he wants something new that other big Sites like IGN dont have.

He is offering Black ops 2 On PS3, Xbox or PC to the most creative ideas.

Just leave a comment Ill pick a few good ones and and send them to him. If you win you will be required to give shipping details although he can send via amazon or steam.

Im not here to advertise so I will not be releasing website, YT links or anything to that fact. If this is the wrong section please feel free to move it. Im not advertising or trying to get his website known just asking for simple ideas. Thanks.

Maybe something like a most creative video or most creative advertisement. Maybe just a "Like us on Facebook/Follow us on Twitter and comment here for a chance to win Black Ops 2 on your preferred system!'

Is it going to be completely market based or will there be some form of community there too? You possibly offer some kind of competition on there to whoever orders this and that. Discount vouches for regular purchases from customers are very good too. Make sure the website looks high quality and such, if people come on and see a poorly made website they will quickly lose interest and leave. Have lower prices than most retailers is a big eye catcher too, although not everyone can afford to do this, obviously. I would recommend advertising if he wants this site of his to be a success.

You guys took this the wrong way -_- LOL

He already has hes shop, and He is now giving you guys a chance to come up for ideas to win for an idea. The site will be community based but will also have hes online shop with cheaper prices. He want some community based ideas.

=)

Could you give some more details / information about what he's trying to accomplish? Is the goal of the website just to be a gaming community? Or the website meant to be like an online branch of the store? If it's suppose to be a branch of the store is the website meant to target people across the world, or just locally?

Thanks for your post =)

Pretty much hes attempting to make a community based website then once things kick of he will add hes online store but at this current moment just community based.

He could review some of the games, and put videos of the gameplay up? Some sites already do that, but a lot don't.

Polls to vote for your favorite game, or for what the game should be given out of 10? I think a lot of the sites just give you the score they think, you don't get to see what everyone thinks.

User reviews of the game?

Live stream gaming?

Just off the top of my head

Well, a forum is a must (obviously), as for forum software if he's interested I would get something good quality. Maybe vBulletin or something. Holding a giveaway or competitions usually always attract people for the potential of winning something. Start discussions on the latest games, personal game reviews, live-stream's, the best gaming equipment, stuff like that.

Oh and, you're allowed to advertise sites in your signature, provided they're not malicious or anything :p

No problem, be prepared to spend some money on advertising, if you don't get traffic to your site then you won't be able to grow. Starting up a page on Twitter or Facebook (or even both) might be a good idea too.
