    Gaming Laptop: What to Get?

    Budget: $800 or less

I realize I won't get an amazing laptop for gaming at this price; just show me the best option :) I plan on using it for RuneScape along with other daily tasks (like surfing) and homework.

Please let me know what sort of graphics card/processor/screen resolution to look for.

    Thanks!

You don't really need a "gaming laptop" if all you're interested in gaming wise is Runescape.

Did you put that because that is the most frequent game you play, or the only one you like to? (You can get away with something well under $800 if you're only using it to play Runescape is what I'm trying to get at).

You won't need a gaming laptop to play Runescape and surf, thats not really a game that requires you to have a good Laptop, look for 1280x1024 Minimum as that is what i find best, 1920x1280 would be good to, make it a minimum 2.3ghz processor and your good to go.

    Ok, thanks :)

And I mention Runescape because that is really the only computer game I play. However, I do enjoy playing it in HD but some of the laptops I've used in the past were lagging while I did so. These posts will help me get a cheap laptop that can handle the HD Runescape (I know that's not exactly a high standard for a laptop to reach, but it's apparently hard to find...)

I'm pretty sure intel hd 4000 graphics can handle HD RuneScape already. It's pretty impressive :p Most of the mobile ivy bridge processors come with the intel 4000 graphics.

Graphics card: Intel 4000 or better
    Processor: i5 2nd/3rd gen
    Screen resolution: 1366x768 and higher

For roughly 600$ you can get a nice laptop already like this one.

Considering your budget is 800$ you can get even better specs. i5 3210m + 630m + 8gb ram probably. Or a 540m/555m and 2nd gen i5. Those are usually 6gb ram.

Well I looked around a bit and this was the best price/quality laptop I could find:

I came here ready to suggest a beast of a laptop.. But you don't need it. Honestly, anything over $500 from your local computer store (not Best Buy type store, actual computer store) would be fine.
