    Gaming Headsets

Looking to purchase a gaming headset. Preferably looking for one which is compatible with both ps3 and xbox360. However, PS3 is my preferred console if I was to choose only one.

It would be great if anyone could provide recommendations on a specific headset. I have heard good things about 'Turtle Beach Ear Force' headsets but just looking for further opinions before finalising my decision.

Price is not an issue - I am just looking for a high quality headset.

I've been using the Turtle Beach PX5's on my PS3 and they're pretty good (I'm no headset master though). Only con is that it kills batteries really quickly however I just use rechargeable ones.

Don't get PX21's that's all i can tell you. Both headphones stopped working after 3 months. Wasted 100 bucks and will never buy another gaming head set.

Yo, don't listen to any of these people, Steelseries is the best quality product you can get. A lot of the top professional Counter Strike 1.6 players use these very same headsets, now it's on the PS3, you have to get it bro. You gonna be goin' ham on them nigga's on THE PS TRIPLE! Ya feel me, dawg?

Unfortunately my homie here speaks the truth.

Although I can't speak from experience, I've seen these professional players use it along with razer. I don't think there's a razer headset for PS3.

But here's one that definitely works with Xbox, you'll have to do some digging if it's compatible with PS3:

I bought razer's tiamat 7.1 Surround sound, and it was truly amazing and worth every penny I spent on it. Unfortunately it was designed for the PC only.

Was about to recommend the same thing here. Siberia 2's, they make a PS3 edition that will also work for your computer. I have the PC ones and dear lord, you're not going to find better.

Seriously though, nothing beats a solid 7.1/5.1 speaker setup.

I'm looking into the Steelseries. If anyone is Australian, would you be able to tell me what retail stores stock them? I was looking at JB HI-FI but it seems they don't offer the products anymore (only turtle beaches).

I'm in the USA, but I'm fairly sure you can't find steel series in a retail store. Only time I've seen them sold in person was when they had a booth at MLG.

Yo nigga, this is where you can find it.

    http://steelseries.com/where-to-buy/australia/australia

Around $100 for a Siberia V2, and only Siberia V2's are supported on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. For the most part, the headsets like Steelseries 7H, Siberia V2's, et cetera are basically all the same sound quality. I love using mine for Bass and CS1.6.

Steel Series 7H has a 10/10 review from Hardware Heaven, as well as a 9/10 from FUNKYIT, OVERCLOCK3D, and KITGURU so that's what I would choose over the rest. As far as price goes, it fluctuates around $140-150 USD.
