Kingdom hearts, Legend of Zelda: OoT were the games that made my childhood.

I played a little bit of kingdom hearts, my most beloved game is final fantasy 10 i just fell completely in love with the characters

I'll try to list a few modern/relevant games.

-Batman games (Asylum, City, Origins) = I've played them all, they're all extremely enticing and play out like a comic book.

-Mass Effect Series = Words can't describe.. seriously awesome game series, check it out.

-Fallout 3 = My favorite game of all time, it has everything.

-Bioshock = The 1st one of the series is slightly outdated now, but they all still kick ass.

-Fable = Not a huge fan, but a lot of people enjoy this.

-Assasins Creed = Again not a huge fan, but it's pretty damn popular.

-Gears of War = An extremely fun game series to play through with a buddy, couch coop ftw.

-Elder Scrolls = More specifically Skyrim. I'm sure most everyone has tried it out, but I thought I'd list it anyways.

-Red Dead Redemption = Bad ass cowboy action, Check ; Cool story, Check ; Play it now.

-Portal = nuff said.

-The walking dead tell tale game series = Pretty stripped down game, it's entertaining nonetheless.

-Half Life = Not my favorite game on the list, but a solid game nonetheless.

-Honourable mentions.... Halo / GTA.....

HaHa i have played evey single game u mentioned I loved fable even number 3, Can not get in to halo tho

Zelda ocarina, FFX if you've never played it is by far the greatest story told via a video game in my opinion.

Hmm... OK.

I'll list off a few games with stories that I've enjoyed that may be slightly more obscure or are older, but have been re released to current gen consoles / are easily accessible.

- The last of us (forgot to mention this is my original post)

- Prince of Persia Sands of Time (ps2 - re released for the ps3)

- Journey (I've only really watched gameplay..)

le gameplay

- Limbo (xbox arcade sidescrollers ftw)

- The witcher franchise (not a fan, try it I guess)

- God of War (the rerelease is soo dope)

- Chrono Trigger.... Definitely a lock in my top 10 games of all time.

- Shadow of the Colossus, if you haven't already played this game, doitnow. (best ps2 game evar/best video game story ever?)

- Uncharted (I haven't played much... but people love it)

- Heavy Rain?

- Metal Gear Solid franchise

- Jack and daxter franchise (re released for the ps3)

that's all the games that focus on a good story I can think of off the top of my head at 3 am... I'm fairly certain you haven't played all these games, but if you have kudos to you.

I see that you've already played final fantasy 10. You should give 7, 8 and 9 a go. They are easy among the best games on PS1 and 7 and 9 have both been voted for #1 game on PS1 depending on who you talk to/what site you look at. They both have a very rich story. Personally I prefer 9 since it actually has a class system in it (7 you just picked whoever looked coolest and used them), whereas here each character has set pre-defined roles e.g. white mage, black mage, blue mage, theif, monk, knight etc. Don't get me wrong either, Cloud & Sephiroth are fucking bad asses but I liked Zidane's character, it was nice to see the protagonist being different than the defined mould of the time.

OoT story was good but majoras mask was even better, it was dark sad and exciting.

I liked warcraft III ha but I'm kind of old school.

I enjoyed the black ops (the first one) campaign a lot it's kind of inceptionish

I'll think of more

The title is "Games with a good story" and people suggested "Limbo" and "Portal".

Black ops is a very story heavy game, but it's still a pretty cheesy one. (It's heavily plot twist oriented)

The most story heavy game I have ever seen would be Galatea. I can't assure you it will be the best story ever. But it is fantastically done.

Hmm ill have to give it a go and never like CoD story lines

Why are people going for all these modern games! My favourite ones are when I jump back to my childhood and replay what I grew up with. Sure, you can knock the games over in 2 days, and the graphics are generally mediocre at best, but my God they are fun to replay.

I'm talking the good old PS1 stuff.
- Gex
- Spyro
- Tomba (less known, but probably my favourite)
- Crash 3 is always fun to replay

I could go on. But as you can probably tell, I'm about to get off this computer and dig my baby out.
~Misty out.

Try Dark Cloud 2 even though it's an older game now. The story is truly awesome.

Also, I love the story lines of the Fire Emblem games. Try Sacred Stones first.
