idk what popular games even run off of servers like this anymore, maybe minecraft?

 

Sythe RSPS, I've got tons of exp managing and helping out with these.


I actually think it'd be an insane income generator if you could put $1k or so towards it and have the right people advertise it for you.

Make a 317, Ask for programmers and offer the programmer rank for those who pitch in updates, if it grows/gets donations, start paying them & the staff of the server, get IPB forum's setup.

I think a RSPS would be a huge hit now if its done properly, especially if ur active and with ur SEO skills.

Nearly every single top 10 RSPS currently is breaking $250k+ a year in income through donations, the top ones are probably honestly making closer to $500k.

I think a Sythe RSPS with the right type of server & advertisement would be a goldmine for sythe.

Why is it funny ? There's been RSPS that started with $100 and a developer with a dream that went on to make millions.

I've personally made a good chunk off them and I'm not even that great at SEO nor do I have a giant forum to boost playercount through the roof.

Make the server(just go download a source that's clean from rune-server, can even be PI), and gradually develop good content on it, Advertise it on sythe and list it on the toplists, do some SEO work, you get a good playerbase starting out from sythe, people donate for ingame items/status's for benefits, more players come, buy some youtube videos and gradually work your way up, get a voting & donation system(rsps pay easily installed/ran), and like gamingtoplist voting, and ur good to go.

It would probably take a few weeks to get up and running, but if it works out it'll be an absolute homerun for sythe.

Not to mention the exposure for sythe would be fantastic, a fraction of a fraction of the current RSPS community currently uses sythe, if it had a good sized RSPS it wouldn't only benefit the RSPS, but sythe quite dramatically as well, there's probably 15,000-40,000 RSPS players left, I'd say (500)? use sythe? I think it's a great idea.


Stable well written servers that have updates every day or every few days tend to go far, and make lots of money, you have a surplus of fantastic people around that could help, I'm just putting it out there for food for thought.

Wouldn't Sythe have to get lawyers, as well as have to deal with a huge amount of legal threat from fagex, which could take down both the site and the server.

FFS we got a black market, and most servers ban $$ for gold, what would the rules be? ect.
It wouldn't be worth it.

As other's have suggested a RSPS seems like it would be great for the site, the only problem being is that RWT would be an extremely large problem based on the player base attracted.

 

I co owned an rsps back in 2013 with some friends and we made ~$100/day from donations even though we only had 20 players online at any given time.

I would like to see a sythe osrs private server but I can't stress enough that quality>everything. I recently tried playing on a few "top private servers" (osrune, osscape) and couldn't force myself to continue playing after a few hours because they had too many bugs and it was obvious that they only cared about donations.

The best server would simply be a osrs clone with increased xp rates (x200 combat, x100 skilling). If sythe considers making a private server I would be willing to create a list of xp rates, features, donor incentives, etc that would help make the server successful

Rwt should be allowed. I honestly don't understand why private servers make it against the rules. Anyone with a brain knows that people will still rwt regardless if it's a rule or not so the only thing they accomplish by banning their own players is being a massive cuck and losing players/possible donors.
