So I'm debating on whether to get the Galaxy s4 everyone is so hyped about or waiting for the new iPhone to come out this year. I'll most likely end up choosing the iPhone though since I'm a die-hard Apple fan. I currently have a Macbook, iPad, iPhone 4s, plus other random Apple stuff - you name it - and I've had absolutely no problems with their products Now my question is: Why is there so much hype about this Galaxy S4? It looks so bulky...can it even fit in your pocket lol? Also, what's this shit I hear about it being plastic? tl;dr I need you guys to convince why I should switch! (if I even should that is)
I don't really know what the big hype about it is. Its a little faster and has some pretty cool features, but honestly its nothing to kill yourself over.
I don't think there is any skewed or big hype about any particular phone right now, all of the latest Samsung/Apple/(and now HTC) phones always have a bit of hype around them since they are just the newest/flagship phones. Had an iPhone I loved it, switched to Android (got the S3) and I'll never be able to switch back to iPhone again, it wouldn't be able to do so many things I can on my Andorid. Android can just do SO MUCH more and has so many less/no restrictions. Once you try Andorid OS and just see all of the options and customizations you can to you probably won't be able to switch back to iOS either. And these aren't even just 'extra' or 'techy only' things, it's thing that should be standard and built into any OS, yet apple is just way too restrictive. Things like picking a default App (browser, maps, etc) and being able to 'share' or integrate any app with any other app it can work with (one example is when opening a photo in the gallery and clicking share my options are GMail, BlueTooth, Texting, Hangouts, Picasa, Fliboard, IMO, Facebook, Reddit, Google Keep, Google Drive... and the list goes on) Where as on iPhone you get email, facebook, twitter and that's it. Best to Google up some iOS vs Android videos on YouTube to see the differences outlined in a clean and organized fashion and then decide for yourself. I HIGHLY suggest you try out Android though.
Thanks for the replies. I also forgot to mention that as soon as the lastest jailbreak is out, I will be jailbreaking my iPhone (if I decide to get it). My 4s is currently Jailbroken and I feel like the possibilities are endless.
* Better cpu * Better camera * Better ram * Interesting sensors * Unlimited OS * Buying iphone with no jailbreak option just sucks. Iphone - jailbreak = trash
Had an Iphone 3GS, Iphone 4 then went to the Galaxy S4 and I guess I'm happy. I like it, you can do much more, but then again I miss having some of the iphone features.
You should get the stock android version from google play, it's free of the bloatware/gimmicky stuff that comes with the normal version. As a result, it's a bit faster.
