G Mauler HELP!

Hey guys. I'm still having trouble deciding on where I want to go with this account I'm working on. Atm the stats are not great but I like hybriding and I like the Granite Maul. I was curious if 44 prayer on a 50 attack pure would work? I would hybrid with mage/range and ko with the g maul. I was told this might not be able to work because I don't have a primary weapon.

For example, if I get ice barraged and then get rushed with a D scim, I do not have a primary weapon to switch to melee wise and would have to stick to range.


Basically my main question to you all is. Would a G maul hybrid with 44 prayer work? All help appreciated!

I would recommend 44 prayer if your in the high-60s and also Leaf-bladed sword is the best primary weapon for a Gmauler, you also need 55 slayer with it though.
