Top lane ADC

What are opinion on this? When levelling my smurf, or forced to go top on my ADC only smurf, I'd still play a carry. It would typically go very well, especially with Vayne/MF. The poke is crazy, range allows for easy gank escapes as well as farming. There aren't many tops who can gapclose and kill you pre-6, and very few who can outpoke now that Ryze has been nerfed dead.

Opinions? Could this see any use in actual ranked play?

 

Depends on if you can counterpick it. They dont need a gap closer to build armour and get you after first back

 

When plat or below, Vayne top will always work. Tank? Np. Gapclose+chase+escape? Np. Damage? Np.

Easy toplane win in low elo. Idk about MF or other non-escape adcs however.

 

I've played vayne top many times in lower ELO and it always works out. Especially on tanks with her true dmg. I also believe it was Quas from Curse who also played vayne top in Solo Q.

 

I've recently been playing Lucian top lane (low elo) he's also quite viable.

 

Adcs are monsters in the top lane. Not only will they be able to outpoke and farm most top laners, they're going to be the highest level in the game. Goodluck to the enemies when you have an adc lvl 11 when their team is lvl 9.

 

Adc toplane is ownage especially with vayne and Lucian! I tried it many times and I would say it worked 7/10 times in silver division

 

quinn top is disgusting. easy level 1/2 cheese and relatively easy laning phase just buy wards

 

The only viable ADC's are really Quinn and Vayne. They both are hyper-mobile if played correctly and have strong kits that can deal with both tanks or carries.
Alternatively, Vayne can be played mid or jungle. I wouldn't necessarily recommend jungling, but know that it is possible.

All you need to do is practice. That's how you learn, improve, and grow as a competitive player.

ive played a lot of trist top and mid and i find its very successful

 

I feel like twist is horrid now after the nerfs to her. I've been messing around with LB top trinity/shiv/botrk feels and it's too fun. Her base stats on the kit give you power through the early game, which the items give you a huge advantage (paired with unparalleled mobility) until lategame. Endgame I sort of transition to a utility top, but it's a good time. I think i've yet to lose lane out of ~10 LB top games.

 

Quinn mid is filthy as well. I consider quinn an assassin sometimes, she's got the kit for one.

But yeah, I've tried most ADCs top and the ones which I find to work decently are Vayne and Twitch if you know what you're doing. Having an ADC who has a lot of farm (easy to farm as ADC top) and the highest level in the game, is really brutal for the enemy team. Though, a smart enemy team would be able to shut it down. Keep in mind, ADCs are squishy, and once jumped on by 2 bruisers (top and jg) it's gg for the ADC (unless you're some sort of MLG Vayne in which case you'd be asking for a 1v2 situation ).

 

Quinn and Vayne are top tier ADC tops. Ezreal is surprisingly good too.

 

yeah ive noticed a lot of lb's lately, i can still destroy lb with ahri even if lb counters. Im in a lower Elo so thats why im guessing i have success with the hard counter. Azir gives me so much trouble though even if ahri counters him

 

ADCs top suck.

 

Azir really hurts if you don't know how to play against him. Those endgame nerfs were completely justified, especially on release when nobody knew how to outlane him. Also superior mobility and ridiculous tower defense kit. I don't pick siege champs into azir at all, he's just stupid.

 

I couldn't agree more about Vayne. Vayne is definitely a viable top. Also basic knowledge that Quinn can rock top lane aswell when played right. Another champion I like to play, especially against a Nasus top is Lucian.

Save your dash for when Nasus withers you, or predict when he is about to go in pat attention to his lane behaviour. You have great poke, nice escape and very good damage. I manage to keep Nasus around 50 stacks by the end of laning phase, he pretty much can not touch you and has to be camped by his jungler to get him ahead.

 

must be a terrible nasus if he managed to only get 50 stacks by 15-20 minutes. Lucian's E no longer removes nasus' wither either

 

Nasus is one of the worst opponents as ADC top, only vayne can handle him because she scales endgame.

If the jungler camps you, which they will, he'll be able to get enough advantage to stay alive, which is all a nasus needs. At Frozen heart and sheen he will destroy any ADC top every gank. Only vayne has the poke to cancel his lifesteal, anyone else he can literally ignore.
