Fuck My Life

Literally. Today, I received my GCSE results. Something I studied hard and long for. I needed 5 A*-C grades to get into 6th form, as well as a A*-B in English Language, Literature, Maths and Science Core + Additional.

The time came. I opened my letter.

I had my 5 A*-C's, but didn't get a B in English Language, so I had to take Business Studies instead. However, my school 6th form are not wanting to accept me, as my priority is low.

My other grades sucked.
Literally.

B - 5
C - 2
D - 2
E - 1
F -1
G - 1
U - 1
X - 1

yes, I got disqualified in Science Coursework.

Anyways, my school say my effort was too low in my other subjects, and genuinely, I only revised properly the ones I needed for A-Level, so I could them, as I struggle with exams.

Now, If I don't go to 6th Form, what can I do? College, too late. Apprenticeships, too late for most. The only thing I am O.K at, is Engineering, and I am only good at tinkering with things, not doing things to a set procedure. So pretty much, my life has been flipped upside down. Anything I can do to make myself feel better?

 

Just wondering, why is it too late to go to college? I have heard people who go to college and are pretty old(30-40).

 

Engineering is much more than tinkering with things. It requires a strong mathematic and scientific background.

What is your passion?

 

It's not too late to go to college. Also, engineering is a great career to get into. Why don't you go to college and take engineering? It's good money.

Engineering will require a really strong background in science, and maths. You could always repeat a year (some people do that in Aus). Or, you could apply for college next year, and ensure to gain some qualifications in both science and maths.

You can still get into college go for it.

 

Primary is enjoyable, as well as anything do to with fixing things

However, I can still get a shit quality apprenticeship, as all the good ones have gone.

 

Fixing things leaves Engineering and enters the world of apprenticeships. A repair company also. Engineering is more about creating highly complex or otherwise objects. If your more into fixing, an apprenticeship is better; If your more into creating, then Engineering is better.

Do you have to go in to college this immediate year? Just take a year off and work, earn some cash money then apply for a college or an apprenticeship next year.

 

Have you tried asking any other schools? Also, you could just re-take them, right?

 

I could, but it's the problem of having to wait a year that's annoying me. They still might accept me, but it's highly unlikely, unless they don't get many applications.

 

Disregard the other grades, you got one A and 5 Bs, which is a LOT better than most people get in this country who only manage to scrape Cs! Business is a fine A level, I'm doing economics but many of my friends are doing business when we start. I know how you feel though, I really wish they do let you in

 

Join next semester or study online.

 

Why would he study online? There is no exam to take if you study online, no evidence of knowledge.

 

Work for a year...bank a lot of money and go next year.

 

In my opinion if you dont have a job that dosnt make you happy dont get it. Wealth can screw a person. Id rather be a happy person at a american eagle then a time consumed miserable job like ceo of pepsi or some brand
