Front page reorganization into a game grid?

Do we have any theoretical images?

 

Maybe a landing page should be created instead/together with this? It would also be possible to use it in a lot of places outside Sythe to direct traffic, it is good for SEO etc.

 

So something like icons next to the logo banner to represent the respective sections?

Some markets don't have discernible icons like Other MMOs & Other Games, so I chose to leave them out for the time being. Wasn't too sure on adding text above each market either. I could do it though.

 

Also with them changing into the coloured versions when you hover the mouse over them or something

 

this looks really nice, i'd suggest seperating 07 and RS3 though (not sure if you already did that) support

 

These icons are good, I'd like to see the RS icon for RuneScape and not a gold stack.

 

Honestly I kinda like it the way it is now. If this will happen, will the current homepage (forum index) still be somewhere?

 

It sounds like a great idea, except I don't imagine how nice it would look due to the website being full-width instead of centered; especially on newer 21:9 ratio monitors.

With the site's current setup, it would look sort of weird. Down below is an image from a 21:9 to display how wide the screen is right now. Although, I think it would still look weird on my normal 16:9 ratio monitor.

It might be a good idea to use a new theme and setup tabs instead of horizontal bars for the main page; similar to how Blizzard does in on the pages linked down below. Placing a mock-up similar to BumBum's image would be easier to implement with that style of a page.

Honestly, and don't take this the wrong way this is only my opinion...
I think the forums should have a re-work done on them, keeping the same style/theme but a more modernized version of before, though i'm not completely opposed to it's current standing. (Maybe even an extra forum style for those who enjoy a bit of change?)

More OT; here's a little something I figured could be the start of something I suppose.
The empty space near the left under the Sythe logo could have forum stats such as Post count, rep, and many other possibilities.

 

could just have something like this when you hover over any tab.
