From Kero: It's Me Now

This is my home IP address and my alt account, which I changed the password for minutes after a friend on Sythe texted me saying I was hacked. Let me know what you guys need me to do to get unbanned.

 

Confirmed via IP that that is Kero.

 

By the way, I can confirm to anyone that [email protected] is no longer hacked. I can dispose of it if necessary, but I'd rather not.


Oh, and thanks a MILLION for Nick catching the hacker quickly. I obviously owe you a lot of potentially scammed bucks.

 

What took you so long?

 

Check out my post in Going Away in the staff lounge. I was in California, and it would've been pointless to try and dispute from my hotel.

 

So you got hacked while you were in Cali?

Do you know how your shit got hacked? Because naturally you wont be getting unbanned if theres any doubts as to the security of your accounts....

 

Let's sum it up as a mixture of shitty luck and good timing.

My hotel room had a policy where it temporarily cuts your internet connection every 5-10 minutes in order to keep people from streaming video or playing video games. Naturally, being out of state and traveling with my laptop, I had it set to not auto sign me into Sythe. This meant every 5-10 minutes, I would get kicked from Sythe because it would pop up the wifi agreement screen, and I'd have to sign back in. I clicked a phisher link I got in one of the few dozen PMs I read that day, and it prompted me to sign in. It was just one of the 10 sign in screens I saw that night and I was too dumb to think twice about it.

If you need him to verify, I PMed scottayy relating to the Internet being cut sporadically because he had forwarded me a guide for verificaion. It took forever for me to find a 5+ minute window in order to download it because of the queue time in mediafire.

I can also send an email from [email protected] to anybody who needs it for further proof. Obviously, that email address was not hacked because the only way to do so is by guessing the pass phrase, which I made to be random letters, numbers, symbols to be 20 characters long.

 

Hey Kero. I've unbanned you, but after careful thought we've decided that you will be suspended from staff for a while. In the mean time, please be careful security-wise. I trust that you've scanned your computer and what not, but please keep an eye out for phishing links and java drive by attacks.
