Honest opinions on xen

I was just about to post a thread until I saw this. Xen is pretty sweet dude. Thanks for the hard work, it's obvious you put a lot into it.

 

I miss how easy it was to browse, but the new changes work great too.

I miss vb3, but I think it's mostly an issue with not being used to xenforo more than anything.

 

Funny you say 2FA, i had to remove my 2FA just to login to xen , other than that though it seems good.

 

When I'm able to upload my amazing avatar as a url then I'll be gucci. I'm liking xen hope it makes people want to stay active on the site through the accessibility and ease of use of the forums.

 

Only negative point for Xen is Gun, Bus and Broken Man are still here.

It's different, and after spending 7 on and off years using the same system I'm finding it a little weird with regards to finding my way around, particularly with regards to moderator tools, but ultimately if I can learn how to use vBulletin I can learn how to use any other forum software. Ultimately it's coming down to how we handle change, and with time everything will begin to feel normal.

Besides, any sort of feature that has gone missing or not been working has been implemented or fixed pretty quickly, so ultimately within a few weeks to a month I think everything will feel just like it did pre-Xen.

generally, people don't like change, so there will always be a few people who disagree. Look at eoc, at first everyone hated it - even myself. Now I actually like eoc more. But it took time getting used to.
Whilst I liked VB3 and how simple it was, it was time for a change. There are some layout things that i find weird, but over time these will get adjusted out and for the most part, this is a much needed change that was a very good idea, and i like it. EG alerts, thats such a good idea. Some things need to be rounded off, i'm not sure how just to make it look a bit cleaner, but this will happen i trust.

I'm happy with it so far.

I appreciate the work put in to make it look similar, and it'll be nice to have less limitations moving forward.

Only thing I would have preferred is an IPB, but I'm sure xenforo is much more robust for a community of this size.

 

It's sweet, thought it was honestly trash at first, but after the bug fixes it's pretty awesome!

(BUT wheres the 150x150 avatars!!!)

Not being able to use a gif bigger than 64 KB as an avatar is pretty lame, also having to fill in your recovery phrase just to change the time zone is weird.

Other than that, not too many complaints and I really like it so far. I know a lot of work and dedication was put into this which I respect.

 

Still some things that need implementing both round the site and for moderation/admin duties but it's encouraging

 

I like it, however, the avatars for donators should be made bigger, they're still the same size as normal members (or am i the only one having this issue?).

 

It just takes a little getting used to. I'm a bit known with XenForo already but of course it's still different now that I was just getting to know Sythe.org more and suddenly there's a new forum software. It still needs to be worked on but I'm sure it'll be worth it.

 

Seems mostly fine. There are a bunch of little things but I'll get used to it. The alerts system alone makes it well worth it.
