Need help getting Cod Ghosts to work better on my PC

Hey guys, I'm no technology guru s thought I'd seek some help from this section, if possible.

I recently purchased Cod Ghosts, and have had constant issues with poor performance, as the game feels laggy and feels like it has a low FPS. This of course makes the game much harder, as there are delays as to when I see the enemy, and they see me, meaning I die a lot haha.

These are my computer (Laptop) specs:


A lot of that means nothing to me anyways. I am aware my laptop isn't exactly designed for gaming and this could be one of the issues as to why it is struggling so much. However, I am playing on what the AMD gaming control panel call's 'Performance Optimized' as seen below, meaning nearly everything is on low settings.




Still the quality I get is very, very poor as everything is sort of blurry which is a bit of a shame, but I still get lag during games, sometimes just little bits and sometimes quite a lot. It varies.





Is this just a case of my laptop being too shit? Or what can I do to improve it? If anyone is able to give me pointers or help on Teamviewer etc and it significantly improves both the quality and performance I'd be willing to give you $5 PP or donate it under your name or something.

its the game mate, get a refund asap, it's what i did.

Constant frame stuttering and piss poor lag even when i had a constant 80fps

the game is just poorly optimized

 

Don't even know it that would be possibly though, bought it off someone who gifted me it.
And yea I have heard that even people who have great PC specs have really struggled with it.

 

yep its pretty shitty tbh, even with great frames it still ran like poop and i was only getting liek 70% cpu usage

 

Damn, sounds like I made a poor purchase. Oh well was fairly cheap anyways.

Any idea if CoD MW2 would work better on my laptop?

 

dunno ghost was my first cod pc game, and it really has sealed the deal for me to never buy another cod game.

 

Ghosts was optimised to... absolute shit for the PC.

MW2 is optimised very well. You could run that fine with no problems.

click on the graphics tab and post a screen shot. is it inbuilt graphics or has a extra card? check if its intel HD 4000 or lower or higher. the only problem i see is the graphics. i5 should be enough to handle a pc game. if it has a decent graphics.

 

It's the game, it's highly unoptimized and i remember reading about how it has a massive memory dump of blank data. Plus it's a terrible game.

 

Sounds like it's just a poorly optimized game for PC :L

I have no idea about what is a good graphics card - this is just the one my laptop came with



I can run CoD MW2 on Max settings pretty much with no problems, so must just be Black Ops.

 

You're going to have issues running pretty much any modern game on a machine like that. You may get lucky with Black Ops and a few others but don't expect to be able to play anything that will be coming out in the next year or so on that machine.

 

Yea not too surprised, just over 2 years old now and I didn't choose a gaming laptop at the time as I had loads of work and didn't use my laptop for gaming.

Will trade up within the next year I'd expect anyways. Cheers though.
