World War 2 games?

Hey guys. I'm sure you've all played games like Age of Empires or Age of Mythology before.

I'd really like a game in a similar playing style that allows you to pick a country and stuff.

(Does anyone know any other good games where you can set up societies and settlements)

I haven't played the game but I have heard civilization games are pretty fun.

Starcraft 2. It is by far the best RTS game out. It may not have 'countries' to pick from, but you can choose from 3 races, and each have their own unique playstyle.

Also, have you played Age of Empires 3? I used to play AOE games a lot, but I find StarCraft much better..

 

RPG's are awesome man I'm a huge fan of age of the empires myself. comman and conquer make some awesome games similar to these.

Starcraft is a little arcadey.... :O

 

Not a RTS and can't pick a country but from your title I'd suggest Call Of Duty 1/2

If you do want an RTS game try company of heroes

 

Flames of War, although it's a board game ;p It's incredible nonetheless.

 

I'd probably suggest Command and Conquer.

Yes, I was surprised too. They use this program called GameRanger, it's like a lobby where you can find other AoE2 players and play with, still a few thousand on.

 

If you are looking for a WW2 RTS. Try Company of Heroes. There is currently a Company of Heroes online that you can play for free.

 

If you want RTS, try:

Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 (Best one in the series IMO)
Command and Conquer Tiberium Wars
Company of Heroes (get Opposing Fronts too if you want more campaign)

Developers don't make games like AOE or AOM that much anymore.

 

Company of Heroes Tales of Valor is the game i have. Its fun and requires alot of thinking before you could do any sort of offensive attacks. Or you'll lose.

You get to build this base and fight other armies with tanks and cyborgs and crazy future weapons and play online if you set it up right.

Company Of Heroes + All Expansion Packs + RC Realism Mod = WWII Nergasm.

Then there's also the more medieval styled RTS games "Stronghold". I personally preferred the first because the second has shit like dragons and giants and fairies. They just kind of blew the second one away with the lack of realism, but the gameplay is better, overall.

But honestly, if you want a game that the teams are overall balanced, and kicks total fucking ass, get Company Of Heroes with the Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valor expansion packs, then install the RC realism mod, you'll have the best game ever. It might take a few weeks or even a couple months to finally get better at the game. And to be honest, it's apparently coming out for free soon, so you can wait a few months (probably around 5-6) or you can go to EB Games and buy it for like $40-$50 with all the expansion packs (Canadian Moneyzzz).

PS: I do know it looks like Monopoly Money. It's not. I've tried using it before, it didn't work.

Yeah, I'd reccomend this game. Use to play it heaps and is just an awesome game.
