Free effective "anti's"/firewalls

This post will contain multiple free ware anti virus, anti spy-ware, and firewalls. I will add more later, please post if you use one or if a link is broken, or plain to give your opinion or thanks.

Completely free, is the best program I have used for virus/spyware.

Did not pick up as much as S&D but it removed a trojan that almost ruined Another one of my computers, that S&D did not work on.

Not better then paid for ones, but works good for free ware.

Spy bot search and destroy is not the best free anti spyware in town mate..it does not have live protection i think...How about try to add link for Ad-Aware? i think its free but personally i use SpyWare Doctor.The Best doctor you can get in town...=).I'm using comodo firewall.it's free but your the one that have to make decision in allowing all connection. (it will ask permission for every connection thats trying to make a connection)

Yes, if you like to go to your doctor, to get your blood sucked out of your veins (process), and you have your heart freeze up (system).
Spyware doctor is one of the biggest process hogs out!

I thought SpyBot S&D had teatime which does offer live protectection? i know it does have a resident process that runs in IE to monitor bad processes so perhaps this may class as Live protection. tbh most decent free programs dont offer live protection as this is normally a feature you get when you purchase the full product.
