Football Manager 2014

Does anybody play it?

Currently in my 4th season of Proper FM mode, not classic. Started as Swindon, kept them up for 3 seasons and pushed play-offs, Bath City have been taken over by a tycoon in Skrill South so took charge of them, 4m Transfer Budget and 120k Wage Budget, never seen anything that big, had to have a go at that!

 

What's the appeal of this game? I never really understood it, it looks to me like it's just an interactive spreadsheet.

 

It's a very technical managing experience. The detail is very very fine, compared to games such as FIFA, which allows you to run your team and develop your players etc EXACTLY how you want to. You are a manager, not a player, which is why you can only view what is going on. Once you get going it's really, really addictive. Would only recommend if you actually enjoy watching/playing/understand football reasonably well.

I love how detailed it is as I always sign my friends who still play in their respective academy teams when I run a Madrid save or something haha.
