I read about copyright issues with nintendo for the use of the mario pipes. Not sure if it's true or not, but it makes a lot of sense. Just seems like a cover up for it.

His announcement was a distraction for attention to make the game bigger than it is now and get more people to play it. I could see the game costing money on it's return.

Indeed.. I doubt he will release the game as a PAID game though as he reached $50k a day in advertising.

And going by the current press release of the game closing I suspect the new release to easily reach $50k and also I guess he is going to add extras like different 'skins'.

Thats what I would do anyways, Flappybird - Starwars, Flappybird - Monsters etc etc the list can go on.

Fingers crossed someone don't release a similar game in its absence.

 

If he really willingly shut down his app because of "abuse" he is retarded. At least donate that 50k/d to charity lol.

It's gone from iOS too. He went through with his announcement, for whatever reasons. I think he didn't want to get into a legal hassle with Nintendo, he could have lost all of his money if he ended up with a guilty verdict on copyright infringement, at least this way he gets to keep a million or two.

I played it yesterday for like three minutes on the girlfriend's phone. Definitely not worth 100$ NOR 90,000$.

 

I saw ad on craigslist today that someone was selling an IPhone with flappybird download for $15,000. Lmao.

If anyone ever buys a phone just for the flappybird, then they have some problems. Like everyone else has said, just wait 3 weeks and you'll be seeing flappybird 2.

 

Bear in mind - he is still getting revenue from ads running at the moment, new people just can't download the game.

 

This game isnt even addicting, i played it a few times, yes i sucked at the game, but still i thought this was a stupid, pointless, game and people got mad over it? Im glad the app is shutting down and being taken off!
