The Mahābhārata, an Ancient Indian epic poem, accurately describes a nuclear blast in ancient India:

What do you suppose this implies? Is it merely a coincidence that Hindu mythology describes nuclear war, or is there something in their belief that time is cyclical, and that the world several thousand years ago was more advanced than it is now?

I am skeptical of the translation - I assume you can read the original transcript though?

Even if it was perfectly translated, some of the specificity is lacking...

The original text is in Sanskrit, which I only barely understand (just like how a modern English speaker would only barely understand the Anglo-Saxon language), but it does make some sense and as far as I can tell the translation is accurate.

I don't think it's impossible that beings from outside our planet had battles here. The Rig Vedas and other ancient texts talk about metallic, flying discs with lights. Even the original texts talking of Moses and Elijah sound like UFO experiences. Christ, Moses followed an object in the sky that blocked the sun (and thus the heat) during the harsh desert days and lit up at night so they could follow it. The object even gave food to Moses... One day Moses climbed to a mountain and entered the object and talked with the lord. What does this mean then? The story of Elijah is equally (if not more) bizarre as this.

Was there a nuclear war? Perhaps. Really though, you have to ask yourself, does it even matter? The mere fact you entertained the possibility is all that is important IMO. By the way, I didn't understand your PM. I'm a white American boy. I only speak English and some Spanish. Sorry  Much respect to Eastern civilization though. Much respect...

The aum and mantra? I mean I personally wouldn't go right to speaking the language, but I guess it's understandable.

    Nuclear war in Ancient India?

Its a coincidence. It's impossible humans possessed the technology to manufacture nuclear weapons back then unless you consider we were gifted the technology or weapon(s) from another race, which then becomes quite a sci-fi movie style incident.

"Archeologist Francis Taylor says that etchings in some nearby temples he has managed to translate suggest that they prayed to be spared from the great light that was coming to lay ruin to the city. "It's so mid-boggling to imagine that some civilization had nuclear technology before we did. The radioactive ash adds credibility to the ancient Indian records that describe atomic warfare.""

That is obviously only one interpretation of the text. Besides, some of the infrastructure required for the manufacture of a nuke would have lasted until today and been discovered, regardless of nuclear war.

Unless, of course, these weapons were given from an alien race.

    Nuclear war in Ancient India?

Intreseting, none the less. But If there were Nuclear War in that time period, and the poet's translation states that he could see (If I interpreted it corectly, feel the "explosion") How could one or any being close enough to witness it survive? That's of course, if it worked like modern Nuclear weapons, with Nuclear fallout, Radiation and etc.

Not everyone near a nuclear explosion dies... Not to mention all the shit they ingested when playing with alchemy. There is absolutely no way you can't be sure they were unknowingly ingesting substances that provides a protective effect from radiation poisoning. WE don't even know everything about chemistry/pharmacology.
