    Fixing the default gateway.

How do I fix my default gateway? Mine keeps showing 0.0.0.0. I'm using my phone as a modem, if that helps.

    Fixing the default gateway.

    Are you running Vista?

Also, the fact that you are using your phone as a modem could be the problem. This is because the default gateway is your router address.

Can you give me any more details? Have you always used your phone as a modem? Has it ever done this before and etc.?

    Fixing the default gateway.

When you say this, do you mean you have always used your phone as a modem or it has always been 0.0.0.0?

Yes, I can help you as soon as you answer that question. I can't guarentee a fix but I will try my best.

    Fixing the default gateway.

I have a fix for your issue. It may be temporary though but it also could be permanent. I also might have a definite permanent fix, let me post these solutions and get back to me on how you went. Oh and, I would like to point out that I guess you were running Vista because several Vista computers have the same symptoms and are unable to connect to the Internet.

Open the properties of the IP protocol, and manually assign a Default Gateway.

This may not fix it so if the issue persists, you may manually remove the incorrect route. Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories, right-click on Command Prompt and choose "Run as administrator". Then enter the following command.

    route print

Check if 0.0.0.0 is listed as gateway in the table. If so, please check the "Network destination" and "Netmask" of that line, and enter the following command.

route delete -p [Network destination] mask [Netmask]
    ___

Hope that helps you. If you are confused or need help, don;t hesitate to ask, I am glad to help you with any computer issues. You can also drop me a PM for future problems. Get back to me on how you went! :)

    Good luck. :)
