First time posting my photography work

I've not been long involved in photography, I've always had an interest in it but never the funds to purchase a good enough camera to pursue it. Here are a few of my pictures and I hope you like them ^_^

What camera?

 

I use a Canon 1100d, when I get into uni I'll buy better equipment. I bought it to create my portfolio so I can actually get into uni :laugh:

I'm just thinking of doing photography too pretty soon, and I'm not sure whether or not to buy this or the t3i. Are you happy with the camera so far?

 

It's pretty much an ideal first time DSLR, it does a great job, has great features etc. and yeah so far I am impressed with it. I got it on offer at Jessops for £430 with a case and SD card. If you do buy it it has 720p video so you'll need an "extreme" edition card to capture video

First and last are great composition and lighting wise. You have a keen eye for photography

 

Anyway, for the actual photography, I might consider starting to edit. Just a simple gradient map or curve adjustment can be the difference between an average photo and an excellent one.

To be honest I haven't edited any of my images I just resize them in Photoshop, the only ones I edit are portraits which I retouch. It's all about lighting, colours, depth and focus to be honest. I do agree that a picture can be improved with gradients and filters but I think it takes away from the reality of the image

Like I said though, make sure you keep on doing photography!

 

The first picture has great lighting and a very 'holiday' mood conveyed in the image. If anything I would recommend studying about the Fibonacci principles on how to setup and balance your images. Also Adobe Lightroom would probably help your workflow.

 

Cannon 1100D is the Canon T3 in the US.

 

The t3i is a 600D, the t3 is the 1100d though, yes.
