Hey Sythe dudes, I'm really lost on the whole fire cape thing. So maybe some of you can help me!
First off, here's my stats:

-99 strength
-99 range
-97 hp
-96 magic
-85 attack
-76 prayer
-81 defense

I have a Chaotic Longsword and Maul. No Desert Treasure, but I have Korasi Haha.
Good gear. Fury, dfs, full void, ava's, etc.
I'm willing to spend a fair bit on my supplies for the cave, but I don't know how to go about buying them. I don't even know what style to use...melee or range. I've looked at many firecape guides, but my stats exceed a lot of guides and what not. So my question is...
What style should I use and what should my inventory/gear be? Will it be easy? I've never done the fight caves before..
Thanks!!

For your first time, I wouldn't recommend melee.

If you want, you can melee the smaller minions (but not the bat things that drain your prayer!) but I tend to stay on the safe side and Range most/all of it.

The only 'melee' type of weapon you might want to consider bringing for your first time (if you have it) is Enhanced Excalibur. This will give you a nice Defence Boost, and it's basically free food every time your spec bar is full.

I'd opt for Armadyl over Void, because of the much better Defence bonuses it gives.

I'd wear Armadyl, DFS, Fury, CCB/RCB with Diamond (e) bolts (you can opt for Broads for the lower waves or smaller monsters, but to make things faster I just use diamonds the whole way), Accumulator, Glaivens/Rangers/Snakeskins, Barrows Gloves, and either a Verac's Helm or a Niet.

I tend to only bring 3 or 4 Brews, a few super restores and the rest Super Pray pots (fill with Super Restores if you can't make Super Prayers, I guess).

For me, the Fight Caves is fairly simple. When Jad gets below half health, and you are luring the healers, try luring them one by one being aware of Jad's attacks. Then, while Jad is still under half health (make sure he is under half!), kill the healers and then finish Jad.

If he is over half health and you kill the healers, they will just come once he is under half again.

Another option, which eliminates worrying about the healers completely, involves being on the Curses prayer set: don't attack Jad at all, but instead just keep switching prayers with his different attacks. The rebound damage from curses will kill him rather quickly (his attacks are so strong that the rebound damage is fairly large).

Watch a few vids over and over to get his attack sounds down perfectly. Make sure the videos are RECENT because Jagex has changed the sounds, as well as the layout of the caves.

Good luck.

Wow thanks!! I have extremes too. Should I use extreme def and range? And how many of each? I really appreciate all this help

If you have the excalibur to boost your Def and heal your HP, I wouldn't bother with the Extreme Def.

2 or 3 Extreme Range can't hurt, but it's really hard to judge what inventory works for you until you do the caves at least once. Some people run out of Prayer Pots, etc. earlier than others, it all depends on how you do the caves.

If he is over half health and you kill the healers, they will just come once he is under half again.

This is false, as long as the healers are killed before Jad reaches full health they won't respawn.

Jad is easier with mage to be honest. The YT mej-kot are easier to take down with polypore than rune cross with brroads. And mage just hits alot higher than diamond/broads. Use a polypore staff, gano, arcane stream, tokkul zo ring and it will be easy.

Blood barrages heal tons during the waves. And ice barrage allows you to freeze jad, run underhim and pick off his healers. Remember to utilise the safespot if uncertain.

Nah, this is just the fight cave.
This is my inventory and stats:

Could someone PLEASE tell me what I need to change! (the one free spot is an sgs)
I have full void elite, dfs, fury, rune cbow, bands boots, and ava's accumulator.

First, the brew:super restore ratio is pretty off. You want 3 brews for every 1 restore. I take about 15-18 brews and 5-6 restores, but I only use a few of each to be honest. Second, if you have them, take Overloads instead of the extremes. The 500 LP hit might seem scary, but the permanent 25% boost to defense is immensely helpful.

You should instead mage the caves. The advantage with maging is that you have a higher damage-per-second with Polypore and a Arcane Steam Necklace AND you have huge damage soaking with Ganodermic Armor. With that setup, you can easily get through the cave with only like 6 brew flasks total, and Jad won't be quite so scary since his mage attacks will literally do half damage. Nevermind, you don't have 85 def. Still, with Ahrims and PPS, it is a little easier than with ranged.

Also, if you have 70+ slayer and can use Kuradal, it's worth getting a Lava Creatures slayer task. You will get a 15% boost to accuracy and damage, which makes the caves a complete breeze.

Finally, Enhanced Enchanted Excalibur >>>>>> SGS. The 400 LP healing effect compounded over an hour means you'll get about 6k life points from it through the whole caves. As long as you already have the levels, the Seers tasks take like an hour total, and you get a nice 200k or so lamp reward from it.

He'll run into problems with only 6 restores. Furthermore, you don't need that many brews. I used like two or three (4 dose) on my zerker a few days ago.

I reckon he'd run into a shitload of trouble if he only brought 6 Restores.

I guess maybe you are saying that because he's bringing 15-18 Brews, so he takes damage and eats instead of negating damage?

OP, if you swap out your Void for something with better Defence, you'll have a far easier time doing the Caves.

Also, I would highly consider getting the EE (Enhanced Excalibur) from doing the Seers Elite diaries. It won't just help you in the Fight Caves - it will help you in almost anything you do where you take damage.

As long as you get some better Defence, and hopefully an EE, you definitely won't need more than 4-5 Brews.

EDIT: I should mention that the only time I really even need brews, as an example, is A. if I stuff up while killing Jad, or B. when I use Overload and don't have EE spec to restore the HP.

so if you wear gano you can just pray range and if he mages he cant 1 hit you?

I watched a vid on this - he won't be able to one hit you, it reduces his max hit hugely. Definitely recommend doing it this way from what i saw. He still hits hard, but you should be able to brew it out.

I guess I was referring to the more main-account approach to the caves, which is a lot faster and you do tank some damage. The pure approach needs more restores than brews, but it takes forever and it's a headache to worry about safespotting so much. With 82 defense and maxed ranged, there's no need to worry so much about safespots imo. Plus the 2 renewal flasks will help count as basically 4 more restore flasks. Technically speaking, you *can* do most of the caves without taking a single damage point... but it's more difficult, in my opinion.

Whenever I get the Lava Creatures as a task, I only use about 5 restore flasks, and I turmoil basically the entire time. Granted, I have a maxed combat account, but still. If you move swiftly enough and use renewals, you only need about 3-4 super restore flasks per hour you spend in the caves.
