Great build for 1k, assuming no other accessories like monitor, mouse, keyboard etc. Looking at something similar myself :)

Seems like a pretty solid build. I personally wouldn't buy a computer right now.

    First CPU build

Very nice build, great parts for a 1k budget. Graphic Card is recent and mid range same as cpu the latest i core series and a good amount of ram for these type of games being released. Although some of these specs which I seen being sold complete with all essential needs (gaming mouse, keyboard etc) are being sold at $2500 or nearest.

Most likely because new tech is right around the corner. New Ivy Bridge processors, new chipsets, etc. New generation of graphics cards are supposedly going to be hitting shelves soon too, but we know almost nothing about them. No solid evidence anyway.

Only problem is no one knows when these are going to be released, so the currently speculated wait of 1-2 months might turn into more like 6 months for all we know.

My personal suggestion is just go for it. If you get caught up in this game of waiting for new tech you will never build your PC. There is ALWAYS something right around the corner. The only thing I truly would try to avoid is buying a HDD right now. IMO, get one used cheap or something and try to hold out until the prices come back down. No telling when the prices will come down, but I just can't justify paying $150 for a 1TB drive :S

Dude... You're going to build your own CPU? That's fucking hardcore. Are you, like, gonna design the board too, or are you gonna, like, going to make it fit on a pre-made socket. What about, like, compatibility and shit like that, are you gonna make it ARM, X86 or your own architecture and write proprietary software for it?

Wait... You mean you're making a PC. CPU stands for Central Processing Unit, not computer.

You've never said anything positive to anyone in your entire 11 posts. Of the 3 I've seen you've been a complete ass hole to the poster.

OT: Looks good and don't worry about new gadgets Ivy Bridge is exactly right.

I think you can push it a bit more and get better hardware for 1k. Go down to a shitty case, buy like $20 accessories, and get a modest sized HDD (500GB?). That way you can upgrade your processor to a quad i7...Trust, it makes a difference especially when new hardware hits the shelves and games suddenly get more demanding in terms of resources. Depending on how much you save, you could even go for one of those flashy hexa-core i7s....OOOOOOOOO

    I disagree blupig.

    1tb is easily fillable nowadays.

the 2500k, beats out the hexacore i7s in gaming, and the 2600k provides like less then 5% difference in gaming, whilst being $100 more.
A good case is a MUST. Shitty airflow, is well, shitty. Can cause overheating etc.

Accessories, well yeah. I advise getting atleast getting a decent mouse, they make a hella of a difference. KB not so much.

Well I had in mind to get a great case... for gaming you need good air ventilation and I agree with the HDD, I would get lower than 500 maybe somewhere around 200-300gb. But I think I'll wait for the new products to come through as someone mentioned above this post.

I found my case in the trash, lol. It's not really even a case, it's essentially a frame. Has no side, half a front, etc, but whatever it works. That's what I meant by getting a shitty case, is not going all out and spending more than $50 on something that is almost purely for aesthetics.

Unless you feel like modding a cheap ass case, just spend the money on a good one.

Good airflow, cable management is a must nowadays. I'd never cheap out on a case, might aswell spend the money on a good one straight up. As they can last for a couple of builds.
