Firefox Download Day

The new Firefox 3 is officially released! They are attempting to set a world record on the most software downloads! So head on over to www.mozilla.com/firefox/ to download the latest browser from Mozilla.

Firefox is arguably the best browser out there and with the third release it is less system intensive and adds a plethora of features. So if you got firefox 2 go ahead and update and if you haven't tried firefox out do so now. If you hate firefox download it anyway to set a new record =p

After you download it from your computer ask to borrow your family member's and download it there. Then go to friends houses and do it there. After you exhaust family members and friends go to starbucks and steal people's laptops to install firefox 3 on. After that dress up like Geek Squad from Best Buy and go door to door offering to perform free system upgrades so you can install firefox 3 on it. And when you do all that try to install every distro of Linux or OS X via the OSx86 project on everybody's computers so they can download firefox 3 again and have it possibly count.

And the reason I'm doing this is because I hate Internet Explorer. It crashed during my weekly masturbation session and gave me blue balls -.- if you don't know what blue balls is, google it to raise awareness of this unfortunate plague upon humanity.

lol like 2 mins after they put it up their servers couldent handle it and alot of people had to wait like an hr. and their goal was 5 mill downloads, they have 500 million now i think (ill check in a few mins)

Lol i had firefox about a year ago and saw no difference in performance between my ie7 and firefox, so it was uninstalled to save space

There was so much attention the day BEFORE the launch date that there was not enough bandwidth on their servers to handle the traffic. I'm pretty sure this number isn't that inflated. Many people have more than one computer =P it will be verified by Guiness but I don't know how they are going to go over all that data...

There is like 8 billion people on the earth now. I would say there is maybe 4 billion computers on this world that can connect to the internet. Firefox has like one third of the browser market. An extremely loyal one third. This day was hyped by like every tech blog from gizmodo to boy genius reports. In addition firefox prompts it's users to upgrade at every major update. Pretty sure they could pull off 600 million downloads. Now they have to determine how many computers it was downloaded to. I would say 100 million. Still a pretty large number and still the world record.
