Ban rate on Sythe

I was always curious, I have been a member of sythe for many years, and although I am not super active within the community like some of my friends on here are, I am always so shocked with how often people I see om threads get banned for scamming. Its really insane!
It's pretty crappy too because it makes buying accounts, an aggressive battle. I literally don't trust any one that doesnt have a large back ground within the community!
What do you guys think the ratio is on sythe, of people that creat accounts with the intention of scamming on here? Or do you believe its spur of the moment?

Pretty much what MSN said. A gambling addiction can make you do things you would have never wanted or expected to do.

 

Very true. I anticipate most people dont come into this planning on scamming people, it just gets to that point, like you guys' said.

 

I think when a specific player is faced with an oppertunity to make a lot of money instantly they often take it without considering the consequences.

 

Everyones got a number and this applies to real life.

 

Its always so shocking when you see people you know, get banned.

I'd have to say if you scam once you'll lose everything the same day.

In all means do what you say here or at any other marketplace and your rate lowers to penniless for rates sake.

I think it's high due to the average age of the users who browse Sythe, and honestly the ease at which it can be done.

It's fairly simple to chargeback a transaction or recover account unfortunately. When users feel they can make more money screwing over other people than they could running a legitimate business they try to scrape by, $5 one week, maybe $10 the next, scams take place.

What they don't realize is the big money is in the long term, and they're just doing themselves and the site a disservice by scamming. Not only do they have a weak moral compass, but they lack the skills to actually be accountable and reliable.

 

really it boils down to this and toast's points. the userbase is young and stupid and thinks they're cool if they get away with scamming $10, $100, $1000... and try to do it time and time again

 

Yeah it's ridiculous. Pretty much everyone I've done trades with in years past has been banned =\ There's a high amount of scammers in the rs game in general and they just see sythe as another outlet for doing it unfortunately

 

The end ban rate is probably around 7.5-8 out of 10 in the end.

 

It's insane to see. Most likely nobody trusts me yet here which is annoying but understandable as the other 90% have ruined it for those who believe they would never scam anyone.

 

You might have a number, but that doesn't apply to everyone.

 

Seriously, its unfortunate that they are so desperate to scam for the game, when in reality they are scamming CHICKEN FEED. The money they get away with, though its annoying for the person being scammed, is MINIMAL. A few hundred dollars is nothing, what a poor reason to lose your integrity.

Yep, I see this too. I suppose its unrealistic of us to plan on making longterm friends via sythe lol.

Thats pretty insane to think about, but I would say thats an accurate estimation.

 

Some well-respected members also scammed when they were going to leave the site. Take what they can before getting banned, and leaving for good.

I'd very much disagree with you. I'm not talking on Sythe either, but i'm sure you might do some shady ass shit for lets say 500m USD (if you absolutely knew nothing bad would come from it and i'm talking you're 100% safe after and able to enjoy said 500m USD without any limitations for theoretical reasons). Feel free to tell me otherwise but idk if i believe you. What if the man you where stealing from was very evil and you were going to use the money to help the poor?

This is just very very very basic human psychology nothing new.

No reason to try to seem like a saint and make me look like an ass because i said that. It's not even my point to be made because it's been made and cited, so i don't understand where you're coming from.
