ok this is how it works
the amount of damage hit on you is determend before it hits you when the attack annimation begins, so if your 1 hp the max that can be hit on you is 1 so if you eat during the annimation then its impossible to ko because his max will be 1 and youll have more hp from eating.
Aka the food glitch

stand on the corner of the U-rock and the wall... all monsters cannot attack u, but u can attack them.
