I'm gonna try and stop myself from turning this into a rant, so here's the jist:

I feel like I'm living my life...Wrong. I have all these plans and all these things I want to do, but I'm limited by money, by time, by friends and by social norms (i.e. getting a degree), but mostly money. It's hard to explain and I don't really know how else to explain it...I do as much as I can with my current schedule, like I'm very fit (gym), I love to code so I do that...But beyond these normal things are all the things I wish I could do. I want to live in a forest for a month, I want to build a dune buggy, I want to go skydiving, parasailing, jet skiing, I want to go backpacking all over the world and still more. Not to mention that I feel like I'm going into the wrong thing at university, but because of money, I'm limited to the schools within my city. Loans aren't an option since it would nail me for life, so I'd have a good time through university then be forced to pay back all my loans once I'm out.

My friends are sort of another "limit". I want to push myself, and I want to do the impossible, but it's never any fun if you do it on your own.

TL;DR - I want to grab life by the balls. I want to push its limits, but the thing is that...They're limits, lol. Everything costs money and money is something I don't have.

What can I do? Should I just occupy myself doing mediocre things like I'm doing now until I get a full-time job and some cash?

You can't expect to fully live your life at your age, I assume you're 18-25.
Life is long enough to do what ever you want really..

Just tough it out for now and when you have a full time job you will be able to afford the things you want :)

Getting a quality education and getting yourself on a career path is very important for many people, and should always be something you work towards. The younger you get started, the sooner you can be out in the real world with a satisfying career.

But the thing is that school will always be there, and you will ALWAYS be able to come back. Maybe it would be worth putting your school plans on hold for even just a single year, and planning something adventurous, exciting, and fulfilling to do with your life. Round up some mates and plan a backpacking trip across Europe, raise some money and start training to go climb to the summit of Mount Everest next season, or literally pack a hippy van full of supplies with a friend or two and set off on a cross country adventure with no clear plans of what you guys are going to do.

It sounds crazy, I know. But once you are fully tied in to a career, school debts, and start building a foundation for your life (a house, maybe a wife, kids etc.) then you will probably never have the chance to do something satisfying with your life again. Or at least not for many years.

If you want to grab life by the balls and you are unsatisfied and unhappy with your current situation, then only YOU have the power to change that. Take something from your life while you can - while you are young and fit, and still have a sense of adventure and excitement. Get out there and see the world or do some things that you want to do.

Maybe you could make a checklist of a bunch of activities you'd love to do, and spend a year checking them off? Even if you have to work & save up for 6 months - 1 year before you can do that. Just don't let your dreams slip away :) You have an adventurers soul and you deserve the chance to explore it.

I would suggest taking a break year, you can explore the world, possibly volunteer places, and do everything you want to do, and it won't nail you for that long.

Here's something small but think about it:
'You will get further by taking an opportunity rather than not at all.'

Create something life changing. I mean, look at Facebook! Follow your dreams. Make friends who have the same passion. Nothing will stop you and nothing can stop you.

If you don't have a lump of money laying around for your personal enjoyment then perhaps you should start saving up slowly. If you have a part-time job right now, put away a small percentage (5-10%) of every check until you save up enough for an adventure. On top of that, I'm sure people from Sythe would gladly donate some money to you!

If you aren't able to get out and do all the big things you want to do then keep yourself busy with some mediocre things as you mentioned. This should keep you happy for the time being. You have the rest of your life to accomplish all these tasks.

If your friends do not share the same interest then find some new friends that do! Either that or find a significant other that is adventurous. I'm sure you can find at least one person who would love to do these type of things with you.

Thanks for all the help guys :) I've pretty much accepted the fact that my life will be pretty regular, at least until I'm done with university. At that point the world will be my oyster, and I'll enjoy every second of it :D
