Apparently the deal is still in the early discussion stages - here's an official statement by Jagex: http://services.runescape.com/m=forum/forums.ws?14,15,354,65764827. I am almost certain that it will go through though.

It's too early to say whether this could be a good thing or not, but looking at how massive the Chinese MTX market is, I'm leaning towards it being the latter. If they end up introducing MTX into OSRS I'm definitely out - I'm REALLY hoping it's just left alone.

 

Really hope the deal doesn't go through but I have a feeling that it might.

I'm hoping if the deal goes through this will haev little impact on OSRS. As an iron man, who doesn't care about high scores or MTX (I wouldn't purchase any) I really enjoy playing the game by myself and so I don't know if would change anything for me personally, but time will tell.

If Shandong Hongda buys, it would be a huge mistake. Insight Venture Partners would have made a fortune ruining RS and Shandong Hongda would overpay massively.

They mention zeah, are they planning on putting zeah into rs3 as well? like they did for osrs? If so it's going to be incredible to see how they build the city in rs3 compared to osrs

I don't think, or at least I hope, this will be the case. I hope they understand that they're profiting enough from what they've been doing. Like I said though it won't change my view of the game. I'll solo my iron man regardless of who the shareholders are.

I've never been a fan of jagex but I'm uneasy about this. I dont play the game personally but I do use the market for profit. China is all about profits and I'm fairly certain they'l turn runescape into this picture http://imgur.com/QaSWZC5
What I am curious about is rwting and games of chance. China generally doesnt give two fucks about cheating or gambling. I'd be interested in seeing if staking clans in 07 could return or possibly flowers?
