http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Placebo
A placebo is a sham or simulated medical intervention that can produce a placebo effect. In medical research, placebos depend on the use of controlled and measured deception. Common placebos are inert tablets, sham surgery, and other procedures based on false information. In one common placebo procedure, a patient is given an inert pill, told that it may improve his/her condition, but not told that it is in fact inert. Such an intervention may cause the patient to believe the treatment will change his/her condition; and this belief may produce a subjective perception of a therapeutic effect, causing the patient to feel their condition has improved. This phenomenon is known as the placebo effect.
There's no two ways about it - the mind is capable of extraordinary things.
However, is the mind powerful enough to produce a therapeutic effect on it's own; or is it actually a pseudo-illness from the start? Keep in mind, only about 30% of all patients are susceptible to the placebo effect.
I'm a firm believer that other life exists in this universe, it is ignorant to think we're the only ones here.
Angelmax - regarding your statement, I believe it is as difficult for them to find us as it is for us to find them. Neither of us have successfully done it yet, and I don't think we will for centuries. I do think that of all the different forms of life that could exist, we are the most intelligent and advanced.
I base it on the assumption that a far more intelligent life form would have found us by now.
It's more of a theory over anything else. If there were extremely intelligent forms of life outside of our planet, isn't it safe to say their technology would be ever-growing at a rapid rate? It is impossible to predict how long they have been in the universe, but that brings up an interesting question I'd like to ask.
We both agree that there are different forms of life out there, do you believe they are trying to find us? I've read many theories, some have predicted that if there are different forms of life that we do not want to come in contact with them, mainly because it is probable they are overly aggressive. It has no real backing to it, it's just a statement, but I'm always interested to hear what people think.
I'd like to know what you think.

Were you banned for one of these reasons? If so, help us out and post in the following format:
Minor or Major:
Botting Location:
Hours botted per day:
F2P or P2P:
I'll compile a list as the thread progresses to help people understand what constitutes which offence.
Macroing Minor (14 day ban):
- For the time being DO NOT APPEAL MACROING MINOR OFFENCES, there have been instances of them being changed to macroing major offences after.
- New offence given out at times in place of macroing major.
- Rollbacked stats after being unbanned are a common occurence, but not guaranteed.
- Given out more frequently to P2P accounts; more leniency is offered to P2P.
- More commonly given out when an account is botting a skill without a profit; fletching, cooking, summoning (little to no gold is gained).
Macroing Major (Permanent ban):
- The old and true botting ban, previously used as punishment for every account caught botting. It is now used less frequently with new macroing minor bans.
- Still seen frequently in F2P accounts caught botting; they are not as lenient with F2P accounts.
- More commonly given out when an account is gold farming; picking flax, killing dragons, hunting, fishing, woodcutting (anything that yields a heavy profit).
Do you have a pure, staker or any other type of account that you would like rated? If so, please post a picture of the stats/bank and other members will rate your account.
Any ratings without justification will be considered as spam.
Farcast said:All discussion pertaining to any updates made by Jagex should go here. Whenever an update is made too many threads of the same thing clog up the section.
As the title suggests, you are not allowed to buy/sell/trade/giveaway any auths. Threads pertaining to auth trading will be removed and the user will be infracted accordingly. This sticky serves as your only warning.
Suggestions to Better Sythe:
StarCraft II is a pretty damn popular game, if Diablo gets it's own section then StarCraft should too. Strategies, general discussion, videos, etc. I know I'd frequently post in it, what does everybody else think?

There is no discussion taking place, all it has ever been is people asking for transfer methods that they never actually get.
Community Section Involvement:
Confirming that I will be helping Kerokerocola run the lottery.
GFX Critique:
Not bad at all. I can see you played around with lighting quite a bit, but you made it work. My only critique would be it is a bit plain.
I think you did a good job on this one. In the color version I feel it blends together very nicely.
Only critique would be the far left which you already mentioned. Seems a bit unused and boring. Nice render and overall nice work though.

Rationale:
Throughout my Sythe career, I believe that I have actively demonstrated all of the redeeming qualities a member of the Community Support Team should have. With the exception of the Spam Forum, I never offer anything less than an authentic and thoughtful comment wherever I happen to post. It may seem like a bold statement, but I wouldn't be saying it if my posts weren't relevant proof. I wouldn't still be active on Sythe if it wasn't for the people that keep me here; now I'm giving back. I would love the chance to further this opportunity by actively working alongside the Community Support Team. I'll keep this brief. Thank you for looking at my application!
