I don't think this actually hurts business. Usually when someone searches for something such as "r2pleasent legit" or "r2pleasent scam" they'll actually read the results. They're looking for reviews. They should be able to see both positive and negative reviews. Even if someone reported you because of an imposter, that just gives buyers more information: that imposters are a thing and they should be careful. I think the [RESOLVED] tag or [FALSE CLAIM] of some sort would be sufficient, not completely deleting it.

Just by you making this thread you're already on Google images for r2pleasent scammer: http://puu.sh/gTW55/4d039488cb.png

It's just something that happens. There's always context involved and if someone can't decipher that then that's just poor judgement on them.

A fake scam report is not anywhere comparable to a negative review.

There's no valid reason to leave them around when they have the potential hurt business and cause confusion amongst potential buyers.

I agree with farcast and the OP. If fake scam reports are hurting business they should be removed/hidden/edited

It's mainly just the titles that I care about. That's what sticks out on Google, and they are obviously incorrect. I don't see it as a major issue really. Just edit the titles to appropriately describe the post and it's all good.

Some kind of tag to indicate the report was false sounds like a good idea. A decent percentage of potential customers would turn down any business after seeing a search page like that.

I definitely agree that changing/deleting titles entirely will cause more harm than good down the road.
