Yes. But Jagex won't do it because they WANT people to become member. They do pretty much everything they can to make money from membership, although removing the wilderness and adding trade limit probably was a bad idea if this is the case... lol

And yes i have a skill cape..

 

If you want to see the progression on f2p skillcape go to the runescape forums under future updates. There are a few threads about this topic and its good to get different views on the matter.

 

Maybe let them have skillcapes, but not the emote? I don't know, I'm not really for letting them have skillcapes.

 

if free to players made there skill to 99 in only f2p, they should show of their skills, cause its like harder to lvl in f2p.

 

@2percent: that would be a bad idea. Plus the emote are already f2p =p
@buttery: I agree, only if the skill was completely f2p. If the account has ever had members on it then they dont deserve the f2p cape. Bc if they already had members they could have gotten the 99 and the cape but didnt have the time/too lazy.
EDIT: To clarify: If a member has a skillcape and logs onto f2p that person can use the cape, unequip, etc. The only restriction is if the person does not have the skillcape yet and is a member. If the membership runs out and the person gets the 99 in f2p, that person would then have to buy members and get the cape. But once they buy the cape in mems they can equip in f2p and buy replacements in f2p.

 

Yes they should, they earned the 99 why shouldent they get the cape? Just my opnion though.

 

There are many people who have gotten 99's without getting members. You deserve a skill cape if you can get it (ex. Prayer is WAY easier in members because in f2p you need ALL big bones)

 

why the fuck are so many f2pes whining? "we deserve this, we deserve that". f2p dont deserve shit! they are not paying for anything and any updates that they do recieve will just be because jagex thought it would be nice to do so. you dont "earn" a skillcape by getting a 99 skill, that is member's content. to be honest, they dont really need much of anything, i doubt f2p would just be dying if they went on not having skillcapes. if they did this they are essentially taking away some of what members pay for and giving it away for free! does not sound logical to me, i just think that if jagex keeps giving f2pers member content, soon it wont be f2p, it will be members.

I think f2p people should be able to get skill capes, I have 99 str on my barrows pure and when i don't play alot i go to f2p. I some times might accidentally take off my str cape and then i can't put it back on but really f2p people deserve skill capes, members its alot easier to level on more spots, less noobs, more stuff to train on etc.

 

F2P should get skill capes. If they work hard enough, it should be easier for them to access to get it, commemorate them for their efforts. Members has so many benefits that they don't, they should just be able to get at least 1 thing, ya feel meh?

plus its not like skillcapes are new content
they can been around for 2+ years....that's a long time to wait for an update
@memberflamr: f your membership gets revoked I will LOL. Trolls fail,
especially dumb ones who are obviously outnumbered. Plus, I know you dont even have a 99 by your attitude, because if you did you would appreciate a 99 and how hard it must have been to achieve in f2p.

f2p has to work so much harder than p2p to get 99 tho. they should have something to show for their harder work.

I say yes because it's really hard to get a skillcape in f2p (besides cook/firemkaing). If you can get a 99 in f2p then your a true veteran.

 

I think they should be able to have the skillcapes. Have you tried doing F2p skilling? It's hard as hell! They deserve it.

With that said, I don't think the cape should give ANY stat bonus. Right now, skill capes give equal stat bonus as obby cape and trimmed ones give even more. The F2p capes shouldn't give a bonus AND they shouldn't give emotes. Just to make it slightly fair.

it is 5 times harder to get a 99 in f2p than p2p

 

They really should make skill capes for f2p, maybe even unique ones if the player got the skill using only f2p methods/without going member as it is altogether A LOT harder to get 99s in f2p. The only one that isn't really affected is smithing, and alching is still decent, cooking and firemaking are still pretty simple.
