F2P Domination - Pure Melee/Range-Melee?

Hey guys/gals,

What is the best for F2P?

Eg; Melee- 40 attack 99 str 1 Range- 40 attack 80 str 1 def 70 range

I haven't calculated the combat levels
Just a question

 

Range/2h is a lot more fun in my opinion, you'll have a lot more successes at a low level. It's a really simple build to play and quite a fun one too.
A pure melee would obviously be better if you're looking for higher hits, but they're even more basic. With Range/2h you can throw in some melee too.
I also recommend using the C. Dragon Battleaxe if you're going to make a Range/2h, it will help you out.

Hmm, rethinking on the 60 attack for Corrupt. Then ill be fighting tankers/40 defence.

 

Possibly yes, but it is a good option if you chose it. You could also go with the all-new Gravite 2h sword, it's got the highest Strength bonus in F2P. (+87 Crush and +90 Strength) the downside is, it requires 45 Dungeoneering, which could be a small pain. It also requires 45 Attack, which isn't too bad.
You could just keep it like the usual and get 40 Attack though, it's nice and simple and can still be very effective.

 

Range 2h is very succesful, if you get them safing on lobs or something you can easy hit 120+ at 70+ range
not tried that gravite 2h,possibly the best weapon for f2p pures

 

Range-2h is generally more effective. However, at combat levels 115+ pure melee is the way to go

 

Melee would generally do better, but with range combination, it becomes way more funner.

 

Yeah, im still leaning towards melee. I just saw someone do a crap load of damage cause he was a melee pure.

 

I prefer melee pures (theyre cheaper) hehe and higher hits
