Hey. I just wanted to let you know that your not alone. I was very shy in parts of my life. I never felt confident about myself, the way I looked, and how I talked/interacted with my friends. I wasn't even able to flirt with a girl at one point because I was so shy. As I continued to move on in highschool I was able to overcome this and my shy personality is slowly fading away. I'm able to be confident in myself, have a girlfriend, and can socialize with my friends without that awkwardness that seemed to affect me. However this isn't about me and is about your situation. I recommend you trying to do what I did, which was doing things you normally wouldn't do. I never liked to be the center of attention, but if you give it a try I'm sure the outcome will be a lot better than you think. Also another thing that helped me was a speech class in high school. Although giving a presentation in-front of a large group of people and socializing with friends is two different things it works! By delivering speeches I was able to overcome my fear of being the center of attention, which boosted my confidence even more. Now getting to the moral of the story, don't be afraid to express yourself. Sometimes others may think differently of you but you can't worry about what others think. Be yourself and you will surely become a confident guy again.

    I hope this helped,

    Trinityy.

You could have a social anxiety disorder, speculation. But before jumping to a conclusion like that try things like working out regularly, taking your vitamins, healthy diet, meditation, practicing healthy sleeping patterns.

Reducing tension and stress all help confidence.

Well social anxiety can be dealt with by drugs, therapy, or self help (like exercise, confidence boosting things like that).

Phenibut is what I suggest as a legal alternative to visiting the doctor for social anxiety but you should still go to a doctor if you think you have SAD. Most of the time they prescribe benzos which make you zombied out, but sometimes they give you SSRI's that actually improve mood and sociability. I had SAD, and my doc gave me lexapro, which really helped after a few weeks.

tilex has given great advice. you could have an anxiety disorder about which could be treated with medication if diagnosed. I also do recommend things such as exercising and eating healthy which can help to relieve stress and other negative emotions (anxiety)

It's trivial, as far as how long you should be on them. I wouldn't recommend buying / using any drug without a doctor's advice, but there are IOPs such as FriendlyClinic that will sell you Lexapro and things like that. Phenibut can be found at bodybuilding.com, but again, you should definitely get the consultation of a physician.

If you *have* to keep it from the family, try phenibut first, as it is legal, can be ordered without a prescription, and is effective. Just make sure you use it, and not abuse it.

u should really consider letting your family know what is going on. it is important to be close to your family as they are greatest allies :). this way you could find the most efficient route to taking care of your problem
