Excessive bumping @multiple threads

Haha, we both know post count doesn't really mean anything (you get pretty sick UT's from it though if you haven't donated lol.), but Ryan pretty much said exactly what I was thinking.

The idea is that instead of having 6-8 threads that are EXACTLY the same, minus the "buying" and "selling" prices, that you just have one thread in which you list the markets your in. From there, you can direct the users to your site for to buy gold and check prices (which you already do).

There is no need to take up half of the front page to do what one thread could. Even more so when they're all pretty much the same exact thing.

 

I agree. In account sales, you're limited to one thread regardless of how many accounts you're selling. I think the gold threads should be treated the same.

 

Incidentally, the argument is that it's harder to attract customers by not having separate threads for different private servers, but in doing so, they're making it harder for others who aren't selling in large variety. This argument is used for account selling threads, thus the ruling in limiting multiple threads.

However anyone wants to word it, it's the exact same argument used to repudiate multiple account selling threads. Either you allow both or don't.

 

Like I've said before, just wait for the staff discussion to come out, I cba arguing it anymore.

The reason the account rule is there kiro, is because RS accounts now have 4 subsections each, which isn't practical for Rsps ._., hence the no multiple thread rule.

They basically have the ability to have multiple threads, just they need to break them into diff subsections.

 

If you don't want to argue, then stop responding. You're not a spokesperson for the rsps market.

It's not magic, and the two are relative, two halves of the same coin, otherwise the argument wouldn't be the same for both allowing and opposing it.

With this being the case, it makes all the more sense to impede multiple threads being created in a forum with no subdivisions. I don't get how you think this logic supports your argument.

Are you being injured or something? Stop being so dramatic, you aren't being forced to respond to anything.

And the sections cant be broken down by subsections so I'd love to hear a diff solution instead of crippling the threads or making 15 diff subsections for RSPS.


Open to ideas, the 1 thread is a bad one.

I don't agree that the subsections are the solution, nor are they practical, but their a lot better than the other idea lol.

 

The best solution, and practically the only solution is to have 1 thread per person, as is in other forums.

It seems like you have trouble understanding why there are subdivisions for the account selling forum. I'll reiterate.

There shouldn't be and is no discussion of making sub sections for the rsps market because it wouldn't make sense.

 

You're missing the point completely - the rule is standardized across all subforums. If I have a bunch of names, I open a name selling shop rather than listing out all the names individually. Account sales have already been mentioned. Why should RSPS gold sales be any different?

How about instead of "generic rsps shop thread", they title it "rsps1, rsps2, and rsps3 gold selling/buying thread"?

 

I couldn't even fit half my rsps in 1 thread title, let alone them all.

Plans are in motion to create subsections for rspspk, runique, and os-scape. This should ease a lot of the congestion in the sole rsps section that currently exists. There will be a catch-all section for the remaining rsps's but between that section and the new subsections, the traffic in each subsection should be quite manageable and no one should feel "pushed out"

 

I feel this is a acceptable decision by staff and have no issues with it , Glad the staff team reached a conclusion that supports both sides !

 

There wasn't a need for more subsections, but sure. Spam-count auto bumpers will be happy they can still spam 150pc/day and casual sellers can sell their gold without being bashed by wannabe gold sellers.

pretty sure you get only 1 thread in the catch-all section. dont see why duplicates should be allowed

 

I was told by multiple staff that its specifically meant to be a catch all section for everything else, not just one thread.


If its a limit then I have an issue with it again lol >.>, everybody I've talked to (to my knowledge) was under the impression the catch all was meant to allow multiple threads, I know at least 2 staff were and I'm thinking 3.

 

Also another fucking problem, Rspspk is collapsing at an excessively fast rate, its market is down nearly 40% in 2 weeks, its playerbase is also tanking due to this goddam dupe and all the wipes.

That subsection might be being changed REAL soon, if its trend continues it wont last another 30-60 days.


Os-scape is up and runique is stable.

 

This is annoying. I'm selling on two servers atm, but I was selling on 5 every time I want to start selling on another once again I will need to wait for my thread title to be changed.

We often run out of stock on multiple servers, so I avoid bumping certain threads if I do not have the stock.

I may only have rspspk, os-scape and runique. I will have to re-arrange my threads layout possibly multiple times a day as well as the thread title itself.

I really disagree with this change and I only have two threads I am selling on currently.

 

terrible excuse, why exactly would you not need to bump your threads(or change the title) when you dont have stock? Do you not buy stock from other suppliers?

 

Just have first thing on thread a list of servers and stock beside it and keep it updated lol.
