    Everything is losing Value

I just checked the marketprice of RSGP and for some reason it has dropped so low... I thought the prices of unobtainable rares would go up. I kept my santa for a very long time and I am still waiting for it do go up. The price of it in RSGP stayed the same for the cash value of it now is only like $30? can someone explain what happened?

The supply is higher than the demand.
It doesn't matter if the item is discontinued, if gp drops, the value of santas will drop too.
    I hope i helped you :)

it confuses me that the demand for them would go down as opposed to up. wouldn't it make more sense that the prices rise because the demand goes up?

I think neither demand of santas nor demand of EOC gp is going up.

what j bounce means is that people (including gold farmers and gold websites) are making too much RSGP, and there are not enough people who want to buy RSGP. So the supply starts to overstack, and due to competition, everybody continues to lower the price of RSGP to sell it. The rarity of RSGP will always drop overtime no matter what. And it will continue to drop.

I thought that the demand for santas would go up, considering people tend to quit, even if they have santas and such. =/ I was hoping to wait like 2 years and make a bunch of moneys hahahaha

Well, It hasn't really devalued in price on Runescape as such, just black markets when dealing with IRL cash. There is no demand for EoC anymore, everyone wants 07.. If Jagex didn't ruin RS, I'd assume the prices would have sky rocketed, but that's not the case.

the demand for santas may go up over time, but then it will only rise in gold value, not in $. people aren't very interested in eoc rs anymore, and there is way too much supply.

Santa's/Phats are usually bought ingame with EoC gp, not used as a way of payment so why would people pay more on here than they can paying the eoc gp value (usually around max cash).

Actually, there's a much bigger interest in 07 right now. I've seen more people on 07(ONLY p2p) than Eoc(both f2p and p2p) several times...

07 will continue dropping as the gold farmers will grow/botters/more gold.

but 07 doesn't even have botting control correct? isn't the lack of focus taking away from 07?

Eoc is so easy to bot now that anyone can make hundred of Mils in a short amount of time so eoc go is worth nothing now. Jagex has such "sophisticated" anti botting technology yet it doesn't effect gold farmers. Jagex shut down wbot and 07 bot yet they let powerbot still in rampant.

The demand has gone down because all the demand has gone to rs07. Meaning noone wants eoc things and if they do it will be cheap.

i am very depressed that everything went down considering I bought over like 2b at very high price and now i could get it for like half. Also lost a lot of that value because the items i had purchased in game went way down in price so it was a lost cause anyway

people usually sell their items then sell their gp when they quit. so the rares would go back into the g.e. or w/e else
