I have recently been hacked, not badly; just 30M's worth of stuff taken (my net worth) and I have no idea how, i've scanned for keyloggers however my computer says it cannot find any threats.

I have purchased a service from Sythe here, however I changed the password so it couldn't possibly be them?

I have set up the account authentication since this happened, will that prevent people from logging into my account completely if they even got my password or?

How has this happened? Keylogger? Brute force attack? A friend?

I used to have the same problem, neither I know how it happened, except for the part that I gave away the bankpin to the hacker himself. I even had the authenticator installed if I recall correctly.

 

It's unfair, I don't want to invest into the game any further :/ How did you give the bankpin to the hacker?

 

I was contacting RuneScape's Customer Support at the time aswell and was in such shock I didn't look at the email address, I did look at the name which said something like Jagex Customer Support, the same as the actual support. The hacker then asked me for my bankpin and me being silly actually gave it away, even though with a clear mind I would've known Jagex would never ask for your bankpin. After it happened I knew I was being stupid, but now I write it again I still can't believe it.

 

If you bought gold recently, you could have bought duped or glitched gold in which rs would take away. There's no way in knowing if the gold was duped or glitched.

 

Yeah I bought 25m :/ The "hacker" left the void, firecape etc but DFS, Zammy Hasta, Cannon, Zerker + Fury was all taken :/

 

A good rule of thumb is to have different passwords for all your accounts. Perhaps someone got ahold of your password from another account such as an email or other forums board

I highly suggest you remove that, people build databases of peoples passwords from rsps's when them databases get leaked people get hacked. Sometimes people are silly enough to use a password from an rsps as there 07 or for other things that are important. The internet is a scary place, take care with what you do.
