You never know which sites are rick rolls though.

And I know I'm safe, it just lags up my computer, and I shouldn't have to deal with that. I don't worry about trojans or viruses because I'm protected, I worry about the fact that it annoys me, and usually causes me to lag out of something important.

No reason to not filter them... If you rick-roll someone, you get reported, and you get an infraction. I say infract for every person rick rolled.

That'll maintain a "No Rick Roll" Policy.

    Lol.

And K-3-V-1-N, the spam forum is different, that is easily avoidable... the problem is that rick rolls are meant to be devious and deceiving.

Why am I the stupid one for clicking a website that someone has that may interest me again?

There's nothing stupid about believing someone who's lying to you.

You guys are being dumb, seriously.

Ok, lets say someone makes a topic in a Market forum that says "Free Santa Hat"

EVERYONE clicks the god damn thread, only to find a link to a rick roll.

You just wasted 30 seconds of your time, possibly more, clicking that link...

Point and fact, they're stupid, they're misleading, they're immature, and they're pointless.

    You can't justify idiocy.

Well, how you put it, means that it's not misleading... I don't care if they're linked, but they shouldn't be misleading.

Also, they're a form of advertising, so really... not a good thing.

Its really not a pain for me. I happen to like the song, and I just laugh when people do it. It certainly can get annoying.

    Nonetheless I don't think it should be a rule/policy.

It's not that aspect that's the problem..

It's the load it creates on your computer.

Although it's a fun joke to play, I agree it should be against the rules to Rick Roll. One because no one wants to see a gay guy, unless they are gay, and it should be considered spam because it has nothing to do with the topic that someone posted, it is spam, case closed it should be against the rules.

And did you know some of us have important documents up that if lost could mean SEVERAL hours of work/shittiness?

    It's not good watson.

No matter how you think of it, you and me are on the same page. We both know that the internet is serious stuff, and pranks totally ruin for the people that know that it's no place to fool around.

yes deacon i understand but think about it when you hover your mouse over a link it should tell you what you're about to click on so i suggest if its a really unfamiliar website or even a youtube link you shouldnt click it

You're on a website full of developers dude. We love to make websites, program, and the like. If it's a site I don't know, then I assume it's humorous, a promoted website (something someone made and wants critiquing on), or just a random website that someone thought was cool.

Just because I don't know sites doesn't mean I don't go to them. That's not the point. It's not MY fault they exist. They should tell me what they are.

    It really doesn't bother me.

I mean really, the Rick roll links are so obvious.

But still, if its hidden in like a photobucket file and they are trying to sell an account then yes, that should be considered spam, and against the rules.

Is it so hard to right click > copy link location? If it's a weird sounding site, except Cruel's rain thing, it should be one..
