End of odds-staking?

Right now go take a look at the w302 duel arena, even if you aren't a regular gambler and you've only staked a few times you will immediately notice how empty it is excluding the maxed main spot.

Nearly every odds staker in the arena was banned over the last day or so, most for scripting (using autoaccepters and not clients in order to make the process of staking on multiple accounts much easier), and 07 gold prices are rapidly dropping (1.3/m), the current conditions of staking seem to really discourage any stakers to ever come back and give no incentive towards individuals looking to make money.

I myself was banned for over 300m gold and a handful of accounts that took over one month of training and dedication to create, let me add that I only staked on OsBuddy as well. This may seem like a lot to some of you but believe me, my example was just the tip of the iceberg, hundreds of accounts were permanently banned and as a result I would estimate that over 20-40b gp was removed from the game in the last 24 hours.

 

As far as I was aware, gold has been ~$2/m for the last few months. I haven't seen it $1.3/m anywhere.

 

This thread is not from a consumer standpoint, if that wasn't clear enough for you then I feel sorry for you. The ideas and facts mentioned in the thread involve people who actually make money off of the game, not just gain xp and fuck around. Go try to dump 1b+ to any gold merchant and let me know what price they offer, that is if they even want to buy your crashing gold.

 

To be honest the duel arena doesn't seem to be empty at all.

 

Reason why 302 is empty is because it was being hit off every minute (literally) for the past few days. Thats my conclusion at least from watching all the staking streams.

If you've only used osbuddy, what offense did jagex put in the account status when they banned you?

 

One ban wave doesn't mean the end of odds staking. If there is an opportunity for money making, there will always be someone there to take advantage of it.

 

Pretty much what he says.Odds staking should be alive untill, duel arena is still there.There are lots of not maxed people that are going to arena to try their luck,this means there will be odds stakers to get the best of them.Its just a matter of fact how long will it take them to build other accounts.

 

So accurate. People will always find a way to get around Jagex when it comes to their implementation of barriers to certain money making methods.

I mean look at fishy and his bum chums (smite yo bgs etc), Jagex removed games of chance so they just moved their games onto their own website and they're doing quite well with it.

 

is it not good that 20-40b has been removed from the game? that will hopefully bring gold prices back up?

 

Definitely not the END of it. As others have been saying, it will just take awhile to pick up again. Goodluck rebuilding.

 

Some of that is probably rwt as well.

 

I agree with most of you that staking in order to profit will not die, people will grind this game until you can't make a penny off of it, but I do believe that as the days go by it is becoming less and less profitable under the current conditions.

 

I've noticed in the past couple of weeks, there was several 1 - 55 range orders for staking accounts to boost their hp.

 

Yeah if that's actually true, it will take roughly a month till GP prices are back up to at least $1.7 per mill, maybe more who knows but atm every gold buyer is always in stock and offers $1.3 per mill which is really depressing XD

 

My friend stakes in the arena all the time at like 114 combat, pretty full in that bracket. Never was a fan of the xers or people with 1 prayer/maxed stats trying to cheat you for money. Glad they are gone.

That's the selling price, you won't find gold for $1.3 unless you're selling it

 

It was likely a handful of x stakers like "peng slave" etc that got banned, they probably own 1-10 accounts and split for huge stakes. It seems they finally got busted for RWT, they will be back in a couple weeks time on new accounts. As for the other brackets they seem untouched.

 

there is still a pretty big market for lower levels. I never felt like there arent enough people.
