[Blackhat Discussion] Compile Bonafide Rules & Guidelines In Regards To Blackhat Activity

Earlier today, Sythe made a collective decision to be more tolerant when it comes to blackhat activities as long as it does not directly or indirectly affect Sythe users. Currently, it is feasible to still be banned for blackhat activities if you are denoted as a dangerous member and pose danger to the Sythe community. I understand that Sythe does not condone blackhat but there is a monumental gray area as it stands.

Activities such as DDosing or social engineering aren't a case by case biases as I previously mentioned, it's the same throughout. I don't understand the "Depends on the severity, it's all case by case". I don't mind the rule update but the way you guys implemented the rule is horrendous, give us some sort of set guidelines.

To be honest, he is completely right and the thing is not every staff member will have the same view on the situation, who gets final say? I am suggesting Sythe/staff to make an inventory of hypothetical situations and report the pragmatic consequences on top of writing an official set of rules.

Now to address

Giving "DNT" as "precaution". DNT'ing a blackhat doesn't mean anyone is sheltered or "more safe". If a blackhat is out to get someone and knows what they're doing, they will effectuate whatever it is they intended to do. Take it from me, I did my fare share of crime in the past. I will approach this psychologically, if you DNT a Sythe user, you will only be provoking them to get more angry and build up chaos.

Now to shine some light on the gray area.

Is hacking/social engineering seen as scamming? Let's say you hack a livestreamer for 5b 07, is that interpreted as scamming?

Selling cracked/hacked VPN/Torrent/Music Streaming accounts, will that be allowed? For these hacked accounts keep in mind you did scam someone for what the paid for...

Are you now allowed to publicly post databases or sell them?

Previously, selling botnets was not allowed on Sythe as it was labeled as "black hat", with this new rule does this mean it is now legal to sell botnets on Sythe if you state in a terms and service that it is not intended for use against fellow Sythe users? As @Bus369 said, staff members should answer this question very carefully because the answer to this question can open the doors to anguish.

Does this mean that we will be able to openly talk about hacking and do things like provide free hacking tutorials for educational purposes? Are we going to be able to openly discuss white hat malware and viruses? Are we going to be able to provide services like hosting IRC Botnets/Pentesting/E-whoring?

In the event that these apparatuses are allowed Sythe indeed will get more traffic and a widespread of users, I am thinking that more people will flock over here from Hackforums but it would be inevitable to make a new subforum and have established rules and guidelines.

Hopefully we can get some discussion in here about this. I definitely think hacking RS accounts in any fashion should be considered dangerous and therefore not allowed. This is malicious activity and at it's core stealing, which is the same as scamming. Ergo it should remain banned.

As for cracked/hacked music and spotify accounts and stuff, I imagine this is what the rule is meant for. That isn't harming anyone on Sythe, so I imagine that would be now allowed.

Aside from my personal opinions on each and every scenario, can we please get some clarification @Sythe . I understand some stuff is a case by case basis, but at least some direction is better than the vagueness of this.

 

@video I have seen that members are still not allowed to sell Netflix accounts, so what exactly does the new rule constitute? Very confused.

 

There was a lot of confusion about this basically we are slightly less strict about OFFSITE blackhat the more important edit was that we now have greater flexibility in situations relating to offsite blackhat. The rules regarding blackhat onsite are still the same (nearly everything blackhat-related on sythe is still forbidden as usual) but if you were reported for like ewhoring offsite 1.5 years ago, this may no longer be an automatic ban.

Anything related to hacking rs accounts, theft, etc is still not tolerated even if it happened offsite. This was not intended to create a mass influx of blackhatting users from offsite this just gives us the ability to forgive minor offsite blackhat offenses

 

Is a prime example of this @King Krab ban that is now lifted?

 

That is actually part of a policy we have to auto-forgive 3 year old or older minor blackhat offenses, we've had that for some time

My offences were 6 years ago. This rule is not the reason my ban was lifted; the offences are just forgiven after 3 years and the report wasn't properly investigated.

Ahh alright, appreciate the clarification. Was this the original intended reason of the rule or was this a result of the extensive backlash from the community?

 

I'm glad that this rule change was brought about. I have been DDoSing many users of TRiBot, OSBot and other such market/botting forums.

I verify that they have no Sythe accounts and then I knock them and their websites offline. I myself run a small botting/gold shop on those forums and I need to maintain my edge.

I'm glad that Sythe recognizes that things like this are sometimes required in a competitive marketplace to attempt to offset the monopolies and oligopolies in some of these markets. So what if I use cyber attacks instead of corporate espionage or other such tactics that are done in the real market? I got kids to feed and the botnet I rent also costs money, I gotta make that back somehow.

So again, Sythe, thank you for allowing me to come clean about this without worrying about needless hassle from the staff. The staff are courts, indeed!

Also in regards to having a court system to deem a user dangerous for blackhat, who gets final say?

Example three moderators and one admin vote a user to be dangerous for offsite blackhat and five moderators state the user to is not dangerous.

How will this system work, currently it lacks a backbone. Where will the voting of this "court system" take place?

 

"No longer"? It was never the case that bans were administered simply for having an account on a shady forum, blackhat bans were always administered with proof they were actually doing blackhat activity through that site. Why wait until known scammers and hackers scam or hack a Sythe member to ban them? When you have blackhat already narrowly defined to mean scamming and other acts of aggression like ddosing, there is no reason to make blackhat activity bans a case by case decision.

 

By investigate do you mean go on their profile and scroll through a few pages of posts? Cause like.. takes 30 seconds

 

Y'all are fucking stupid. If you want an updated set of rules make it, don't make pointless ass threads saying "we will be more tolerant haha"
