My life just feels mad empty right now.. I broke up with my girlfriend of 8 months because I had to move away and now its been about 5 months... I just feel really empty. I walk past other couples and just have pure hatred for their happiness that I don't have.

I used to have a really tight group of friends who are far from being considered nerds at all... Now I moved and I just feel like I'm in the wrong clique. It feels like because I moved around I missed out on a lot of things and opportunitys..Now I'm just the nerd in the corner. I hang out with nerds. I honestly think that hanging out with these "nerds" are hurting my chances with women also, Its pure bullshit, I hate the idea of people not liking you for who your friends are. I'm pretty shy so I honestly don't think thats helping me at all with making friends/getting a new girlfriend....

My life just feels really empty/alone/boring... I don't know what to do with myself. I'm bored of all the games i used to play and I want to change but... I don't know.

Anyone have any similar stories/words of advice?

I personally believe that when i make the effort to go out and talk to people i become more happy. Not only am i growing as a person i am building my skills to make me stronger.

I too have been feeling like i am in a hole right now. I personally feel 100x better when i am in a relationship. It gives me that opportunity to go and do something with someone and not have the time to look at myself and judge based on how i see other people.

I see a new place like a new start. Be the person you want to be. DON'T LET OTHERS OPINIONS MOLD WHO YOU ARE. If you want to be that nerd, if it makes you happy, do it. If being social makes you happy, DO IT.

Yeah it may be awkward talking to some random person, but hey, who knows, that could be the chick you fall in love with and marry some day. Life is full of hook ups, make ups, and break ups.

You are the only person in control of your life. you can make it as amazing as you want it to be. You just have to want it bad enough.

Thanks for the words of wisdom... I met a girl like a month ago in a movie theater and ended up kissing her on a dare from her friend... We never really talked again after that night. I really want to talk to her or something but I always seem to psych myself out. I think im shy because I tend to over think situations before I do them... I'll think about what im going to say before I do it and end up thinking "No I'm just gonna sound like an idiot and she'll hate me" "I'll never have a chance".

You really have to stop the self-hate thing, and not give a damn what people think of you. Just do what you want to do and not care about what everyone else thinks. If you like this girl, then go for it -- stop worrying about who's watching or what she might say....you'll never know for sure until you try.

I've been there, with the girl issues, and hanging with the nerds. I've had worse happen to me. However, putting my issues aside and focusing on you... I'd just like to say a few words.

You will NEVER know until you try. By that I mean, if you never try to get this girl, you may never know what COULD HAVE happened and what WOULD HAVE happened. You need to step up to the plate. This girl could be literally in love with you at first sight and she's too shy to take the initiative to come after you. Just give a shot.

As for the nerds and your "clique", you should be happy that you do have a group of nice friends that want to be your friend. I always hung with the nerds, I'm VERY into computers, and so were they. Find some common ground that you guys share together. You'll be able to move past the whole "Oh they're nerds and it's bullshit" thing. You won't care so much about the women and whatever else you're "missing". You'll enjoy hanging with them and being their friends.

If you really don't like them you can always try for new friends... you just have to get past the shyness to get them. I know it's hard, but I know you can do it. You know why? You've just posted your problems on a public forum. You're asking for help from complete strangers. That's not shy at all, man. That's great that you're reaching out. And I know you can do anything you really set your mind to.

If she didn't want to kiss you she wouldn't have let you. So I think it's safe to say that she wanted to kiss you.

Meaning if you think it's stupid chances are she will too. So don't think negatively about yourself.

Befor you talk to a girl you like tell yourself this.
1. I am awesome
2. People like me
3. She likes me

Just be positive.

 

Personally I wouldn't care if I were you, most school relationships don't last long anyway.. I'm afraid to say you won't get far if you're shy. With meeting new people you have to have a bit confidence, all I can say is try to be as confident as you can, or just wait it out until college or work, you don't really have separate groups in college, everybody is mature by then and doesn't care who they are with as long as they are nice people.

Yeah Im trying to overcome my shyness.. Its hard especially around women. I can easily talk to any other guy or a chick I don't think is attractive.

Well a failure of a day, wanted to talk to her for days...Had many opportunities then I told my self I was gonna do it today but it looks like she already has somebody else in mind "married" some other guy on facebook guess I should hold off on trying anything with her and move on.

Edit: realized she probably isn't the best choice, she moved on from a break up in like 5 days? Unless she is just married to this kid as a joke/friend type thing. I hate women like that who jump from guy to guy to guy like its nothing.

Sounds like a plan, Its just nerve wracking to speak up and be the first to initiate conversation.

But anyway, I'll update on anything that happens here...sounds like a cool idea to keep a log or something written about what happens on here.
