your a moron, pay attention, this is 2 different kinds of emotion. no matter what song you listen to rather it be something by bill monroe to analcunt there is emotion from hate to happy etc., the defining of the emo genre today, is music talking about suicidal thoughts , cutting themselves, and also there look. if you look like the emo people do (guys dressing like girls , girls dressing like dykes because emo is one step below transvestite ((had to say that when i started typing just thought of that song and made me laugh))) and guys wearing makeup, all emo is , is a poser version of goth, but the emo kids didnt understand what a goth is, accentially a goth is a lazy depressed anarchist. doesnt like how the laws are set up, depressed about it, but too lazy to do anything about it (and yes not all but some do the whole witch craft bullshit. the stereitypical version of a goth being about " oh i hate the world so its time to commit suicide ) bullshit is how emo's got formed in my opinion.

I personally could make a whole lot better music on any insturment they play then the majority of them. And depending if you like it i can prolly do a metal song better than they can do a emo song lyrically and vocally. and if what they do sounds like crap most the time, has horrible lyrics and just ruins the world more by filling the world with more ignorance than why would you want to appreciate it? bout the only way id appreciate it is by throwing it in the musical dumpster along with michael jackson, prince, rap, and meatloaf (the music dude not the food although the food sucks aswell lol)

Sure, i can see why some people enjoy the music, it's just like any other musical band, but being "emo" is just a stupid way of getting attention, and looking like a girl is completely retarded.

I know what takes talent and skill and there is no doubt that rap takes skill. Honestly if you think rap takes no talent then get a mic and record something for us. Some rap sucks ass but so does alot of types of music, you are just closed-minded.

I am so confused by the fact that you actually know music (Though I can prove time does not equal skill) I assume, and the defending of that genre... I don't even know what to say.

I guess every genre of good talents has a rogue every so often. So I won't make a fuss over it. Just promise you will continue playing your instruments.

Emo music is so much better. Why? It means something and isn't just about fat guys who want to fuck women. It also is like theraputical.

Emo music > Rap x 100000000.

There is alot of terrible rap out there, but to completely rule out an entire genre is stupid just in the same way someone could say there is alot of rock music that is terrible.

Even though the percentage of hip hop/rap that I listen to is small, there is no doubt that some rappers have huge amounts of lyrical, poetic and musical talent.

It annoys me that people only see musical talent in technical skill. You might as well listen to nothing but violin caprices because they probably take the highest technical skill.

Also you are right when you say you cant measure musical talent by the amount of years someone has been playing an instrument, I probably attained most of my skill with guitar from when I was 12-16. The thing that playing an instrument for a long time does do though is give you a much broader approach and creativity to rythym, melody, phrasing and definately makes you more fluent with playing.
